Re: Lufthansa CEO: "SN could become part of Eurowings"
^^ It could become interesting if Eurowings could do some (European) flights on behalf of SN, so LH can invest more in the long haul network of SN with more and new planes (B777 like LX and OS for example)

Re: Lufthansa CEO: "SN could become part of Eurowings"
This would be OUTRAGEOUS! Brussels Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Belgium, they can't just throw it away. The only acceptable name change would be to rename the company back to... Sabena. Still a stronger brand than Brussels Airlines, even after 15 years! :) http://img151.imageshack.us/img1...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
2 things: 1. Are there any plans to do something about the busstation ? Today it's a disgrace: it's disordered, dark, dirty (the lines on the ground are almost completely gone), the asphalt (road surface) is old and broken and the signage is poor. The overall infrastructure is just not like someone ...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft
Maybe it's time VLM realizes that many people don't like small, cramped propeller aircraft like the F50 anymore. If I can chose a flight to southern Europe with a A319 or a F50, my choice is clear. I would never go for the airline flying a F50. The fact that their SSJ100 are delayed for more than a ...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft
I think that there's an opportunity for a 3000 meter "runway 32" extending to the South-East of the airport. It's mostly fields down there, and perhaps it's already some backup plan (should Belgium split and Antwerp become the new capital of Vlaanderen) If (if!) Flanders becomes independe...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft
I absolutely agree Antwerp has great potential, but nobody seems to care. Flanders should invest more in Antwerp Airport. To begin with a new modern terminal next to the R11, away from the old terminal. (Just like they did in Charleroi)

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft
^^ Well, thanks to its investments Liège Airport is attracting more and more passenger airlines (like VLM). Liège is also a big cargo hub. There's no reason to laugh about them. They're doing great, Antwerp is not.

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft
Antwerp Airport should do something about its old and ugly infrastructure. It is such an unattractive airport. Seriously, does this look like the entrance of an airport!? https://www.google.be/maps/@51.188867,4.450869,3a,75y,104.26h,87.38t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sJp2YaQH4FSprshuPTh721Q!2e0 I have seen b...

Does anybody know if and when the planes will get their full (blue) livery again?
It looks a bit white at the moment...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft
Found some good news on Airliners.net forum: The deal is still a go, it seems VEB (which is the bank Ilyushin Finance uses for its leasing operations) had some issues with financing, but it is all solved now. They also announce the signing of new contracts in Eastern Europe and Asia. BTW, VLM's firs...

If VLM want to reintroduce itself as a modern airline, it needs new aircraft. The old and slow F50 have had their time...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
The "ugly-ness" of that building is very exaggerated on the picture above, through some (not so ideal) photo manipulating techniques. Granted, a few renovations might be welcome, but it's not by far as bad as it looks above. Well, especially in more grey-ish weather, it just looks very ug...

Any plans to modernize it? For comparison, a modern departures area... See the difference? http://blog.endaca...

Re: ATR crash Transasia in Taiwan (again)
I admit I don't know much about airplanes  But recently I've seen a report about the Kegworth air disaster. As mentioned before, they shut down the wrong engine (instead of the one on fire). This clearly wouldn't have happened if they could see which engine was on fire, no? Please enlighten...

Unbelievable. Isn't it about time that pilots can actually see the engines (via small camera system), so they don't have to 'guess' anymore which engine has problems...
