Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

The 2 A320 coming from TCW are not replacement aircraft they come in the same time than all the winter operation of Thomas Cook I actually know that, they are expansion to take over the TC ops. However, just looking at the numbers, I see 13 out and 13 in. But I was just answering to Yuqu12 who coun...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the SSX and SSO can also be seen as replacement of the RJ100, so that would mean that the 12 RJ100 are replaced by 3 SSJ100, the SSX and SSO, SNI and then the 2 OO-TC? Well... since the replacement of the 12 remaining Avro's already started last year, I t...

For the A333 it is no option. Just simply not installed.
Do you mean no option for the A333 of Brussels Airlines, or for every A333 ?

Best regards,

Duke
Not an option for any A333. It is an A332 only system.

Re: Brussels Airlines OO-SFM to Ougadougou holding above Belgium

Only read this thread now. So too late to give any current comments on the situation, so just for info since the issue was raised. The fuel dumping capabilities of an A330... For the A333 it is no option. Just simply not installed. It does have the dummy dumping pipe coming out of one of the flaptra...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

No clue what SN will do, will have to wait and see. But there is something worth considering in this discussion I haven't seen yet. Harmonisation. The current fleet is a bit of everything. 333 - 332, GE, PW and RR... If you add the NEO, it is yet another variant. Though at least the GE will be gone....

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017

But what is sure is that IF Brussels Airlines change of identity, it will stay a dissociated identity from Eurowings, even if Brussels Airlines is in the group. I really don't get this. So, if the name will not change to Eurowings in ANY case, why all this fuss and uncertainty? Why not keeping the ...

Re: Flybe Dash 8 Q400 crash lands at Amsterdam. Many diversions

It seems the Q400 is building quite a landing gear reputation... A variety of causes though, in all fairness, but some hefty damages nevertheless, and a few write offs as a result. But it doesn't look like it can cope with a heavy impact very well. Either by landing, or uncontrolled freefall as in t...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

DWJ made is last revenue flight last week.

And another thing I noticed, though slightly off topic here, is that on the A32F aircraft that have been repainted this year so far, the registrations are painted in a different letter font... Don't know why, liked the old font better...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

I have no doubt that titles will be added. But I find it strange it wasn't done straight away during the paintslot. Now it will have to revisit the paintshop. At least, if it is to be done with some quality... Normally, if the titles are not to be shown yet, for one reason or another, they are paint...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Is it impossible for SN to change completely to Boeing if they receive a good deal with them? Even the A320 fleet is not so young so if Boeing give a good deal and SN change completely to Boeing is it crazy? Nothing is impossible... But it means a HUGE investment... One that far outweighs the benef...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

To me it doesn't make sense. After all the effort they put into reducing the costs, by going to as few as practical a/c types, it would be unlogical to let the cost go up again by unharmonizing the fleet. Won't happen.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

A340... Forget about it... won't happen. As for the A350, I also don't think it will happen, but I like to add that although for the flight crew it is a common type to the rest of the Airbus fleet, and requires minimum conversion, for maintenance personnel the opposite is true. It requires extra tra...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Yes, that's it. It is a changed Airbus requirement which was implemented. Though only top surface is mandatory, bottom surface was included in the change. Exept tot the 3 logo jets, they only have a light grey top surface. SSC was white/grey anyway.
