It's not really a safety announcement, but last year a flight attendant on our Prestwick-Charleroi flight, just after landing, said "Welcome to Paris". Some travellers became slightly frightened that they were on the wrong plane. It was a funny situation.

I guess Charleroi will not be a base for Flyeco. Their base will be somewhere in France.
And about the postponement: on the website www.lowcostcarriers.org Flyeco is already listed in the Low Cost Carriers Graveyard...

Sean,
Why putting Oslo Torp in your shortlist? Are there signs that Ryanair would like to open a base there?

I remember having seen some Caravelles. I always link them with sunny holidays, I daon't know why.

I have had the luck once to fly on board a Dassault Mercure from Air Inter (flight between Lille and Lyon). Inside it looked very old but it was a special experience.

Oostmalle airbase

With all the discussions about the expansion of DHL, the airport of Chièvres is now in the picture.

I remember that some time ago Freddy Van Gaever said that the airbase of Oostmalle would be ideal to become a commercial airport.

Does someone know if there is any progress in this idea?

Meerkat, Ryanair do not care at all about upsetting other carriers, so that cannot be the reason :) I flew to Liverpool as well and both the outbound and the return flight were full. But probably Ryanair was only able to fill those planes by bargain fares. Ryanair deosn't make money by peaople who b...

If some of you are looking for a cheap and nice daytrip: try Bergamo. This is a lovely Italian city with a beautiful old marketplace, surrounded by small, pittoresque streets. Ryanair fly there and the price for a return trip is indeed € 1.46 return taxes included. The schedule is ideal for a daytri...

The reason Easyjet is not flying into Brussels is that, since Sabena went bankrupt, EZY have a gentlemen's agrmeement with VEX not to compete on Brussels. (But don't ask me why VEX have flights to Rome and Milan from Easyjet's base Amsterdam...)
