Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Beside PEK, Brussels Airlines is now code-sharing with Hainan on PVG - BRU and BRU - PVG. Does it mean that Russia has given SN the green light to code-share with HU to/from PVG above its territory ? HU7921/ SN4118 inbound. HU7922/ SN4117 outbound. The same code-share agreements where used in 2010/2...

Beside the mainstream about beautiful 'aerosmurf' and the handsome CX A350-900, thanks for all the beautiful reports and pictures, the first flight of A9, Georgian airways from/to TBS is more confidential today. Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

No more birds. The real number of active A330 flying for SN depends also of the end of the oldest A330-300 leasing contracts and when the entering "new" A330 birds come into service, isn't it ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

LH is certainly a very strong airline but you can't compare them to a 5 star airline like QR. The amenities, the seats, the food etc... no comparison.... I agree, I travelled on a LH A343 last September. The European four-engine remains a good plane. The crew was pretty decent, but the latest gener...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

it's just a matter of time before LH decides that star alliance partners can take over (AC for YYZ, UA for EWR/IAD and AI for BOM) in order to let SN be the specialist in African destinations Who knows...? JFK is ... JFK, and the UA hub is EWR. LH gave a boost to SN to fly to BOM not a long time ago.

Re: A321LR will/should it change everything ?

Does it make a real difference between the A321LR and the 757-200/300 ?

Re: A321LR will/should it change everything ?

About profitability, beside the size of the aircraft and the cargo demand on different markets (NA vs Africa for instance), what makes the difference of operational costs between the A321LR and the A330 / 200-300 ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Those in favor of SABENA, because it would still be a recognised and respected brand in certain parts of Africa... It seems to me this is a kind of nostalgic, neo-colonial vision. Who knows but IMO, the name of Sabena will not be recycled in the future. It seems to me that Sabena has kept pace with...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

It's very puzzling to read that the name of sabena sounds neo-colonialist, racist etc. I don't think at all that most african passengers, tour operators, hotels, taxis etc. today or even 20 and more years ago see sabena /brussels airlines as a neo-colonialist brand, but as an airline that was and al...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

So every one has his own sensibility about our so called flag carrier and its predecessor. One can say objectively that in 2001/2002 the main concerns were the same than today, about the economy, jobs, and to keep the connectivity of the whole Belgium with Europe and Africa. Much more important than...

In december SN said he had transported to Asia, so Bombay, 10,338 passengers. There were 6 flights / week. No flight on Tuesday, so no flight on December 5,12,19 and 26. 27 flights, 54 return trips. That's 191.44 passengers / flight. Unable to tell if it's good or not but it's more than 90. Nice gr...
