It seems that every one thinks Airbus is in bad shape. Worst comes to worst, in the case Airbus is in troubles, EU governments will come to rescue. There is no way they let Airbus being reduced to a 30% market-shared airframer.

Just my 2 cents.

They have to buy more goods to please uncle Sam since the trade imbalance between US and China is getting worse. And China doesn't want to change their monetery policies as the West wanted. What is better goods to buy from US? it doesn't hurt China to buy Boeing's since China doesn't make any planes...

Right. But 30 years ago Boeing engineers designed B747 with papers, pens and primitive calculators (leave alone desktop computers). A fact and correct. Today engineers have all kinds of tools that make their jobs easier. That's a thought. . If you asked engineers in all fields they would say comput...

Off course, that's not a real comparison. But it's only to indicate the A380 is doing pretty good so far if you compare it with the development of the 747. Right. But 30 years ago Boeing engineers designed B747 with papers, pens and primitive calculators (leave alone desktop computers). Today engin...

Airbus is British, not French

Airbus is British, not French as we all knew. The name Airbus comes from English "air bus". If it was called Bus Air then AirBus would be French. :?:

20 years from now it will be called "zhou xih";in Chinese it means AirBus

So all that talk about it being much more reliable and efficient than hydraulics is just b*llsh*t ! A Fly By Wire plane without hydraulics wouldn't even get off the ground ! Flaps, landing gear, gear brakes, ailerons, speedbrakes, gearbay doors, ... All controled by hydraulics whose's valves are co...

What did they give away to sell that many A320s Maybe it sells well because its a good product, just as the 777 is. Boeing has the State Department, Department of Defense and the US Trade Envoy all dedicated to promoting its products (free of charge), not to mention the Defence and Trade attaches i...

edited from reaction above - accidentally logged in with old account Somebody was calling the A340/330 in need of replacement? how is that? accusing Airbus of only making variations?? Because it looks like B777 will finish A340. Indeed, Airbus doesn't bother to upgrade A340 and they announced they ...

Re: not so sure

of course building airplanes is high-tech, but if china can go into space, they can surely build airplanes, and will, the compete. . The Russians launched the first satellite, and moreover they have been building all kinds of aircrafts for years but they so far cannot build any thing that can compe...

As DFW said, if China gets the wing (the most important part) then we will see Chinese jets in 10 years time, and why would Airbus want that? Airbus seems desperate to catch up with Boeing. They won't have more launch-aid, and viable technologies to compete. They can see themselves their market sha...

Re: Airbus studying feasibility of A320 production in China

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/business/3607685.html While Airbus will sell a lot of airplanes in China, it will not necessarily be due to the production being there. In fact, from my personal experience, the Chinese think of western workers to be of higher quality than Chinese workers. Why...

ABC News reporting on the A380. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=1533307 So according to the article A380 doesn't meet the spec in terms of weight? I read long time ago that they trimmed off a lot of extra weight and and brought it into specs. Wonder if the article is correct. Regarding to A...

I love the war A vs. B since I want to learn which airplanes are better and why. Both A and B have claimed their products are better than their competitors' and it's hard to find the truth on the web. For example, if B777 is better than A340 why wasn't it sold well until last year? Why is A320 not o...

Good news for Airbus! And good news for Europeans too! They will enjoy more cheap shrimp from Thailand.

Airbus can sell more A350 if EU governements open more markets for imports from those countries who will buy A350 in return.
