Re: A first big problem (and delay) for the JAF 787 OO-JDL ?

Gentlemen, please, this is a thread about Jetairfly, not any other airline! I fully agree. Please, Sean, don't take everything that is being said or suggested about "your" airline personally. You now come over like a luchtzak addict (don't want to offend you, but you're becoming difficult...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective

Perhaps Etihad, if b.air hadn't had its hands and legs tied by LH. I won't go into details, but even if I don't agree with everything Flanker has been saying in his recent posts in this thread, I agree with a lot he's suggesting or the questions he's asking. In short : are we heading towards a kind ...

I don't doubt that Mr Gustin's press conference was most interesting for those who were there - but on the TV, it's appalling.
With all due respect, he should hire a coach to teach him how to dress,
Gustin wanted to imitate MOL.

Re: The Brussels Airlines press conference of 30 January 201

OK, RoMax, I can accept some of your points (like SN has some good contracts with tour operators which will make the flights profitable, but...for all nine new destinations ?). OK, I'm prepared to leave them the benefit of the doubt. But if SN has been working on this for much longer why is everythi...

Re: The Brussels Airlines press conference of 30 January 201

P.S. (not Parti Socialiste but "post scriptum"). When I typed the last sentence of my previous post, I first used the (American) word "Fall", but changed it immediately to (the British word) Autumn, because I didn't wan to suggest an allegory : Fall will bring the fall of brussel...

Re: The Brussels Airlines press conference of 30 January 201

I have refrained from entering the SN/FR batlle field so far. However , I cannot refrain to comment to b.air's press conference. BTW I think I'm one of the few who are neither stricktly pro SN nor pro FR. I still don't want to fly FR because I'm old fashioned and believe that one should take into ac...

Re: Ryanair in 2014

Could it be that MoL decided to fly to BRU because he either wants to "kill" or to get his share of the subsidies the Belgian (federal) government will be giving indirectly to airlines with more than 400,000 pax per year at BRU ? We know that MoL, in principle, only flyes to airports with ...

Re: African operations possible with narrow body equipment

The AA model has been tried before to Africa. AF did it and axed it, IB is still doing it but isn't expanding it and LH decided to axe its Privatair service to Africa. I have to disagree. The AA model, as far as I know, has nevr been tried to Africa : I don't know of any airline in the past who off...

Re: African operations possible with narrow body equipment

AA is introducing the A321 Transcontinental = US East to West Coast v.v. with a three-class configuration including lie-flat seats in F and C : http://www.aa.com/i18n/urls/newplanes.jsp Since it is now proven that an airline can offer lie-flat seats on an A321 (and probably also on an A320), b.air s...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming

In other words, you should ask your employer for some extra rest.

What about a Christmas truce ? (which the French nicely call "la trève des confiseurs"). I for myself am taking a Christmas break now.

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming

As for experience, that's not directly coupled to age. I've had the pleasure to fly with some extremely competent young captains (30's-40's) and also with some extremely incompetent old ones (50-65). If you are a safety instructor and don't know the difference between simple words.... :o Experience...

Monday to Friday :

Indeed, they should upgrade to two nonstop links per hour on Sat/Sundays (and up to 4 per hour the rest of the week).

Re: Ryanair at Brussels Airport

Indeed, they even charge high one way fares on destination where the competition (not necessarily LCCs) offer low OW fares. For example, on JAN, BRU MAD OW : SN 279 euros, IB 119 euros (+15 euros for one piece of hold luggage). Just one more example of mismanagement !

Re: New Budget airline from January to ANR!

I have serious doubts that a budget or LCC could be profitable operating form (to) ANR as the costs would be too high. I don't want to "kill" ANR, but wouldn't the best solution be to increase nonstop train frequencies between Antwerpen-Centraal and BRU from 2 to 4 per hour ?

Why don't we once and for all decide that an international group of experts (no Belgians on it) make a final recommendation which will be accepted by all, instead of leaving this to politicians who probably don't have a clue ?

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming

Welcome to reality! 99,9% of the passengers don't care why there is a strike, they just want to fly and they have paid for it I'm also amazed when people are not 99.9 %%, but 100 % so sure about what they are saying. No nuances. It's me, me, me and me again. I am pretty sure that unlike what you th...
