Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Somewhere from around MSN 500 the standard range capability increased dramatically for the A330-300, at least 1300nm more than the early birds like SFO-M-N-V-W. SFK (MSN 570) is one of earlier birds that had the increased MTOW modification standard in the production line, up until then it was up to ...

What is your source for this?
Afaik, SXD flights are not in any way managed from Brussels.

Re: Lufthansa in 2018

Lufthansa is preparing to take over planning and control of Eurowings' long-haul network, as the subsidiary’s role in the segment evolves. So far the Center of Long Haul Excellence... The flights are still going to be operated by Brussels Airlines, it was never the intention that Brussels Air...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

It has nothing to do with insider knowledge. Big Brother is/was a reality show. One of the participants, Betty, started working as a flight attendant for Brussels Airlines earlier this year, this has gained widespread attention in the (mainly Flemish) media.

The 4 A330 that will join for EW ops are 701 (SFJ), 570 (SFK), 645 and 648, all by the end of next year. The 2 A340's are going to leave the fleet next year.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

There is an SLA clause in the contract, if it is not met due to technical failures, Brussels Airlines will be (financially) compensated in some way or another. That is of course no use for the passengers which journey is delayed... Anyway, I heard rumours that the CItyjet contract will not be renewe...

That's the whole point of the long haul renewal exercise. The "new" aircraft are just arriving a few months too soon.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

SFE will apparently sit idle for a few months before being introduced to the fleet. Any specific reason why this is, and whether the same thing will happen to SFD? SFD's cabin will be cannibalised to refit SFC. SFD will be stored until next winter when the new cabin is going to be installed. SFE is...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

[BTW, what are EW pilots salaries compared to SN's?] Gross salary is similar, although I don't know exactly about per diems or duty pay of Eurowings, I expect this to be similar as well. German taxes are very likely to be lower (I don't know the German system, but the Belgian system is one of the w...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

The first Singapore one (msn 1010 - SFE) is going into storage until the new cabin is going to be fitted, at the end of this year. SFC (MSN 895) is going to fly for Brussels Airlines this summer, in Brussels Airlines c/s. The Skyliner source seems to be incorrect. In other news, rumours are that no ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Well the difference between 3000€ monthly and 4500€ monthly for a cabin crew member is quite big wouldn’t you say? I think I can live with a “no breakfast” stay then :/ I was talking long haul captain salary's, not cabin crew members. You also can't compare gross to net salaries, since it depends t...

When you fly full time , you always reach between 2500 and 3000 at brussels airlines (thank to the per diem), I do not work for Lufthansa and I don't know their salary, but if they earn the double as you say (meaning they earn between 5000 and 6000€ a month) then indeed I would prefer their work co...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

Has it been boycotted by authorities (AOC) ? I think yes. I think no. If the authorities wanted to boycot Air Belgium, they would still be waiting for their AOC. The BCAA can always find a reason to ground an airline or revoke an AOC, even for TUI fly, Brussels Airlines, etc. If they have a differe...
