Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

What is all this sudden surprise about? Is has been the case since months, guys. Everybody is moving away from paper and towards electronic copies of everything you can imagine: your bank statements, your taxman's fiscal declaration form and indeed airlines too with boarding passes and newspapers et...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I've said so before: If BRU wants things to move differently, it needs to help shape reality for those who actually fly the passenger flows... this means focus less on the bottom line itself and more on the quality of its revenue sources, because I agree opening up Belgium to the US by evening flig...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Didn't this route start as an evening flight, only to be moved to the morning after one season? Clearly the suggestions to make it an evening flight by some above have thus been tested already and actually shown to be worse than flying at identical times as United! I can understand the airport woul...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

About THE plan...When the "Reboot" plan of SN will be communicated and will take course. 2019 ? 2020 ? Later ? Thx ... I could be wrong of course, but I am under the impression many here wrongfully expect some kind of a big, abrupt and revolutionary plan in which they will announce that a...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

No LCC competition will make intra European travel more expensive and will increase the profit of feeder airlines, there is no benefit for travellers nor for airports. If Austrian halts their NRT service, locals who need to fly from Vienna to Tokyo will fly via Fra, LHR, Cdg,.. but they will still ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Regarding Intercontinental flights. Yes, I fully agree, there are certain destinations who are missing, very badly missing. With a shrinking SN it will not help to convince them and this is a shame. You can safe money on many ways but not in making yourself smaller bcs you lose market which others ...

Transavia to fly from BRU with 2 Boeing 737s in Summer 2020

[I share the same opinion as Inquirer. That market is already overcrowded. Destinations have not been announced yet, but one can only think they'll start with the most popular ones Indeed 737MAX, let's see what routes they announce. I really do hope they go for the less obvious routes like Zurich, ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Do we really need all of this, knowing it knocks away the critical mass to support big and healty home based airlines with route networks beyond just the obvious routes to Malaga, Barcelona, Rome etc? Healthy home based airline? Did you miss reboot? As for Transavia, I wouldn’t underestimate them, ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Rumors are 3 planes based in BRU, apparently. That seems not bad! If they fly the holiday destinations for exemple four times a week, they can launch a high number of routes! Also remember when they wanted to start flights to Munich a few years ago. The flights never launched, or were stopped very ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Off topic but most of the people also forget that the shareholder of BRU also invested already more then 1 billion euro in BRU. And the investments for the future are already approved. I didn't forget, but the fact remains BRU is solely investing in itself really: it's investing in hard infrastruct...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

This discussion has nothing to do with SN’s fleet. Stay on topic please Sorry to have deviated from the topic, but the discussions are related: SN will be able to renew its fleet only if it can show a healthy profit, and BRU can and should help SN make a profit. It's in everybody's interest! Indeed...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

But like we could read here like BRU has to invest more in SN is not possible bcs LH is the main share holder. It's a bit easy to say investment must come from the shareholder; in today's world, we speek about 'stakeholders' and this includes ALL beneficiaries, also those who do not OWN the company...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

To shrink the fleet and number of destinations will make it more attractive for the competition. SN will lose market share. It will be much more difficult to come back and win pax for your airline. Regular airlines and LCC will fill the gap. This process will cost SN much more. Aviation is the mirr...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

yet the logo is displayed next to the entry door of each plane.

But I agree: it would be smarter to have a plane in STAR colours actually flying, ideally one of their big ones even, because on the intercontinental routes, they are a far more valuable asset to STAR then on regional routes in Europe.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I have to say passenger is right: By federal law, a company MUST use the official language at the location of the site in its official communication with ALL of its employees overthere, so for their activities at their HQ situated in Diegem, that is indeed Dutch. On a side note: since many French sp...
