Why ARE so many planes falling out of the sky?
Interesting article, although I must point out I'm not normally a Daily Mail reader!

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Although I know that with the frugal Germans in charge that's unlikely...! I found catering at LH not that bad at all... Cheers, Stij I fly them very regularly and its clear they've cut back on catering on short-haul flights in the last few years - a tiny tasteless cheese sandwich with no but...

Just stumbled across these pics: http://www.airlinemeals.net/meals/SNBrusselsAirlines.html Ah... catering in the good old days (just three years ago). I mean they even had tablecloths! Wouldn't it be a dream to that kind of service again?! Although I know that with the frugal Germans in charge that'...

On the VISA issue: "If you paid by credit card, initiate a dispute immediately. You’ll probably get all of your money back, but don’t count on it. If you’re working with a reputable card, have made the reservation recently, and contest the charges right away, you’re likely to see a full refund....

Re: VLM/Cityjet abandons Antwerp-Frankfurt
Why don't they fly from Antwerp to CDG (or AMS, although I know this is only 1h45mins away by train) and feed AF/KLM and other SkyTeam partners? Seems logical to me... pls explain!

Civil aviation consultancies
Hi there,
I hoping someone might be able to help me...
I'm looking for civil aviation consultancies for help on a couple of capacity building projects in the sector.
Does anyone know of, or able to recommend (preferably European) consultancies in this sector?
Thanks in advance!

Re: New LCT at Brussels Airport opens 25 October 2009
If you've got a 400 EUR (charleroi) fee vs. a 500 EUR (BRU) fee for the same destination (not necessarily the same airport), people will fly intercontinental out of Charleroi. I think it's just a matter of time. +25 euros baggage surcharge both ways, +a cramped rude bus service return to CRL for €4...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Meanwhile, the cooperation with Lufthansa is being stepped up even further with the addition of 2 new codeshare agreements on those routes where SN and LH weren't codesharing yet: i.e MUC and MXP. As of next week, SN will move to terminal 2 in MUC (i.e. the STAR alliance terminal) and so it can cod...

LAN, British Airway and Qantas to name but three non-US, non-Charter airlines But I get your point, the A330 is a cut-above the 767, even if there might be a flaw with the pitot tubes...tolipanebas wrote:Apart from the US carriers and the charter airlines, who's still flying 767s to AFI these days?

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
LH's A300-600 are quite nice aircraft, from the pax point of view VERY comfortable. The Absolutely agree Euroflyer - I flew from FRA-ATH on an A300-600 in April, first economy row window seat, great leg room, comfortable seat, nice clean renovated and relatively quiet cabin environment. All in all ...

Sorry but can someone elaborate on the "extra security measures unexpectedly imposed upon Brussels Airport by the EU"? I didn't realise "the EU" could unexpectedly impose addition measures on a specific airport (eg BRU). Normal legislative procedure dictates that the Commission p...

I hope some business men have the idea to open a new BELGIAN low cost company! (together with some belgian pilots/cabin crew) Good luck to them! Realistically now's not the time to start an LCC; there"ll be consolidation in the market, partnerships or mergers between existing LCCs (SkyEurope/M...

When is the new LCC terminal due to open? Do we know which airlines will operate from it, to where and how often? Do Brussels Airport have any guarantees that easyJet will expand their network from Brussels?

Why do people think they would change the name? They've not changed the name of Swiss, and I doubt they'll change Austrian Airlines to anything else. They established Lufthansa Italia from scratch. I think, believe it or not, that the Lufthansa Group are quite comfortable operating different airline...

Why is this happening all of a sudden?
Almost missed a flight on Friday morning at 7am here to Vienna -> meant I had no time to shop as I had hoped to (airport shops can't be very happy!). BRU must fix this asap.

They say the incident happened as JAL flight 62 was leaving one of the airport's gates. Television footage showed the object - believed to be a cargo conta...
