Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
Hmm, AI wants the ministry to "punish" Lufthansa/Star Alliance, but the ministry now says they don't have any problem with another airline joining Star Alliance. They just don't understand why AI's application was rejected. http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/industry-and-economy/logistic...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
I have just read a very interesting article, of course I can't vouch for the accuracy, but if it is correct it makes for fascinating/scary reading ( and I have to wonder what their source(s) are) http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/what-went-wrongair-indias-entry-into-star-alliance_571869.html...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
STAR ALLIANCE AND AIR INDIA PUT AIR INDIA’S MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION ON HOLD I've just been reading the same story that you quoted. I have to say I nearly fell off my chair laughing it is one of the funniest examples of polite doublespeak I have read in a long time - my two favourite parts I have req...

Interesting development http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/Air-India-gets-Rs-250-crore-to-pay-banks/articleshow/9400233.cms Meanwhile, AI's difficulties seem to be mounting with each passing day. Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
I have to say I am very confused, I have opened up every single link you have provided and I have found no mention at all of Jan Albrecht's supposed ultimatum that *A are not prepared to accept AI unless they can also have a second Indian carrier, except on the link from the Centre for Asia Pacific...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
Be aware that there has been no official confirmation of this news report, and that it has been reported in only one news source ( the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) . None of the other regular aviation news sources (flightglobal, aviation week etc) have picked up on this story as far as I can s...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
That's true, so it may not be correct. But really it wouldn't supprise me. And if it is true I assume it is not something Star Alliance would widely announce to the world, but would like to keep that "in house". Rumours or things that are not officially confirmed are often/mostly not pick...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
why won't this be good news for BRU? The article doesn't say anything about Jet Airways. *A always said that the alliance could hold two Indian carriers. Indeed, see one of the previous posts, Star will only allow AI if they and the Indian government agree with a second Indian member (Jet Airways o...

Re: Aegean and Olympic launch reciprocal codeshare service
This seems to have come out of nowhere. I would have thought that there would be some sort of approval process they would have to go through. The EU rejected their merger, is this heading towards a de facto merger by stealth?

My suspicion is that the announcement will be that AI have scraped in before the deadline, although I am sure that they will phrase it more tactfully than that.

my bet is on IAG I think you are right , but I hope you are wrong . DL can't do anything unless SQ sell their 49% stake as that is already the maximum non EU holding permitted in the airline..... on the other hand DL's partner AF/KL could buy some of SRBs stake.

Sorry , you have really confused me with this comment , is this a reference to the former UK Prime Minister , and , if so , what does she have to do with the subject ? If it is not a reference to her then what does your comment mean ?flyfred007 wrote:I knowhow Thatcher it is allready in THE pipe line

Re: SN's long haul fleet
The youngest 744M of LH are 20 years, and pretty much end of life. By the time LH has phased them out, figure out yourself. SN can invest their money in better ways. And what about the 20 Boeings 747-8I LH ordered? I keep trying ;) There is no "M" version of the 747-8I . On the other hand...
