Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2015

Never never? I don't agree with that. Some airlines, like Brussels Airlines, have a company policy to tell the passengers what's going on, even if that has expensive consequences like having to pay the indemnity as per EU rule 261/2004. You mean they would admit both pilots felt asleep instead of m...

For those living southeast of Brussels:
LUX-JFK with BA via LHR in July and August for 385€ return. (around 500-600€ for other US destinations), a bargain!

Re: Stuck on FR 737 in Rome, emergency ?

SN3187 (OO-SSM) flew normally and landed on schedule after the incident at 22:39, just about the time I took off How did they do that then? Another handler? SN 3187 was an inbound flight to Rome, which left BRU shortly before the NIKI incident. When they arrived at FCO the airport was open again, s...

Altitude was clearly limited by traffic as you can see in the same picture.

Re: Flying on the Jetairfly Dreamliner, questions

The only problem with the 787 is the tight schedule. As soon as a little thing goes wrong, eg weather, airport delays, unscheduled maintenance, it takes days to catch up for the delay. Compare it with a doctor who has an appointmentt every 15 min, when he is called away during an hour for something ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective

I just bought a BRU-FCO day return ticket on RYR for 2*17.99€. What's the purpose of such a sale? Try to find new customers? Obviously I wouldn't have gone to Rome if I hadn't found such a low price. Which means that SN is right in not trying to match such fares. Market share, and new customers ind...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective

Strike on Monday in Belgium means a revenue loss for Brussels Airlines of "at least 3 million euros". (Joost Freys in HLN) I read yesterday that they claim they already lost 1.5 million on Monday 8 December...that's a total of 4.5 million Euro for strikes they don't have anything to do wi...

Re: BRU-ROM/FCO-BRU B737-800 Ryanair

I don't understand why they didn't let you walk to the terminal in BRU. I don't believe in the bad will against RYR: sometimes there are plenty of flights arriving at that late evening hour. Probably low visibility operations in progress. Walking is not allowed during LVP, don't ask my why. Airport...

Re: New Benelux train to stop at BRU!

Jan, the surcharge is only for those boarding or getting off the train at the airport, not for those travelling through the tunnel. Lately there are quite a lot of checks in the station to catch those who buy a ticket to another destination but get off at the airport. I think it is good news for KLM...

Re: Malaysia B772 AMS-KUL flight crashed near Donetsk, Ukraine

Even if the picture is zoomed in, the relationship between the reference length and the aircraft size is maintained as this is particular to the distance from which it was taken.. That was exactly my remark: if you look at the aircraft it is way too big in relation to the fields below. The relation...

So everybody goes now, already for a while, via departing where you can pick up family, friends. This creates a traffic jam on the way to the "kiss and fly" park as 75% of the drop off spaces are occupied by people waiting to pick up arriving passengers. Cars dropping off people are stopp...

I know, which is why I've said I will be pleased when it is finally implemented, so the annomality is over. There have been many precedents, also in Belgium for example and FR has won every single one of them, provi...

Sn flies a lot less to their normal destinations in July and August, so they have extra capacity available.
It reduces the available summer leave for crew however and F/O´s will have to be careful with HQ callsigns.
