Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

But SFT is a 200 with PW engine almost 20 years old?!? Is Brussels Airlines not switching to Trent???? 2 A332's have lease contracts till 2021/2022 and will stay until then. They get the new PY cabin (though with some small visual differences to fit the 'old' cabin vs the version that will be insta...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

First of all I am wondering how SN can improve its figures when they are dragged down with EW's horrific performance? It's not SN's figures that matter, but EW's. SN is and will remain a seperate entity, both legally and operationally. Totally regardless of the consolidated public Eurowings Group f...

Such forecasts are highly unpredictable.
The forecast of 750 included new DUS based staff, 350 was the number for Brussels.

2018 was also the first year that SN exceeded 4000 employees.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

...well let's rather say that this is what the internal communication dept of SN says of it. ;) I've rarely seen an airline choosing a seat that isn't yet certified but that still is for sale on the market. :? It actually happens all the time. Each time something is changed to the basic off the she...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

SFM did probably last regularl flight on december 19. It's the second oldest A333 already operational. The end of a long story in SN fleet (just 2 years forAir Inter previously to go for Sabena) 3rd oldest, Cathay Dragon has the 2 oldest operating Those were manufactured earlier, but SFN, O and M h...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Thank you André .. sorry for the link problem, just found out about it now. Spohr repeats what is unfortunately already known. Each airline of the group must finance its equipment separately. No policy, no investment for sn except the routine thing. It's not so much the financing an sich, it's a ma...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

I wonder what's the reason of OO-SFJ and OO-SCX operating Brussels Airlines flights. Is LH/EW testing the waters? Or is LH/EW supporting SN in their fleet renewal/issues and thus avoiding a more expensive ad-hoc external lease of equipment? SFY is in C check and SFZ is still AOG. So SN simply has a...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

OK, I note that SFN is being replaced by SFC (already flying since the summer). But, noting that SFY is "parked" at LIS (reason?) and that today both SFT and SFZ are AOG at BRU, I turn to the SN list given for the LH group that says SFE and SFG were to join the fleet by October; hence I'm...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

All that drama again for nothing :p Old situation: 6 A333's, 4 A332's, at least that's clear for all. Now then. Since summer 2018 the fleet roll-over kicked off with lots of things ongoing (early deliveries requiring temporary storage of several a/c, usage of SFC as 'hot spare' by SN until SFN would...

It's most probably just me, but I don't see the tongue in cheek aspect of his post referring back to a 'joke' he made himself in March by showing a picture today which is several years old.

That picture is already years old and regularly seen on LHG websites, press releases and presentations since several years. It even doesn't have the current LH and EW tail  It's in fact the old version of the picture(s) commonly used today with LH, LX, OS on the left and SN, EW on the right to...

Re: The CityJet Sukhoi SSJ100-95 saga is hurting Brussels Airlines

According to a pilot, a lack of MEL (minimum equipment list) forces the pilots to not fly. Other aircraft types have a better MEL in case one or few instruments/items are not working. Interesting, thank you for that information. To my knowledge so far, it was "lack of spare parts". This i...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

D-AIKJ future OO-SFJ just came out from the hangar at Malta... And guess what? Eurowings livery of course... Of course, what did you expect? It's an ex-LH aircraft coming to SN purely for the purpose of operating wet-lease for EW replacing a A340. This has nothing to do with the ex-SQ and ex-CX air...

Re: Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 news

Good luck finding several A320's or even worse A319's now on such short notice on a FULL TIME basis (not just a few flights per week) without paying a fortune which is many times higher than rebookings costs etc (if it would be long haul, it would be something else because there those costs are many...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

If the reason for the cancellations really was crew shortage, why not subcharter VLM planes, like they’ve done more than a few times in the past, to perform the flights? Something tells me they really are concerned... Exactly, doesn't have to be VLM per se, but as I said in the last part of my post...

Yes 1 single flight but one that requires an off day afterwards for the crew as do many of the long saturday charter flights, in times where cockpit AND Cabincrew is being called in their off days , every bit helps... Still the impact of that 1 flight is very limited on your overall crew utilizatio...

1 single flight per week, during the weekend. Yeah that must solve a lot if that would be the actual reason.
