Re: 9W plans global ops in MUC, move out of BRU possible

Does MUC offer more & better connections within Europe than BRU? LH has a quite extensive European hub in MUC incl many destinations which SN does not serve at all as far as I am aware? Could that be another reason for at least thinking of moving the 9W hub from BRU to MUC?

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial prospective?

just my ideas: why does LH not take the option this year? Well, (1) because they need the money somewhere else at the moment and as times are uncertain you want to keep as much cash as possible; and there is nobody else who could "take away" SN because of the existing contracts, so they wo...

Re: Brussels Airlines new service in b.flex : doritos ?

Hm, I think I need to add some ideas here as well ;) But I have to say I can agree to most what has been said on this by eurojet and tolipanebas ... I have myself done well above 100 flights / year on short-haul European flights for around 10 years now. Nearly all of them for business travel, most i...

Re: Brussels Airlines new service in bflex - doritos ?

I had the doritos on TXL-BRU as well some days ago (was a mid-afternoon departure). I did not take them and looked surprised enough for the staff to excuse themselves this would be the "new policy" ... as I am used to this kind of snacks from LH in economy, no surprise at all; but still: t...

Re: Lufthansa to dismantle and then rebuild itself

Let's add some drama. LH, AF and co have to re-build their companies from the ground up. Back-offices and overhead are not the big issue here. If I were CEO of such a big group, I would think bigger. The solution is simple and obvious, they just don't see it. LH and AF will go down if they don't ra...

Re: Germanwings to replace Lufthansa on STR-BRU route

More worrying for SN it means clearly that operating STR-BRU via 4U is much cheaper and more profitable than doing it via SN for LH. This is not a good sign for SN. Why? SN didn't operate BRU-STR before. It's the LH employees who should worry. If they want to get a greater part of the cake within t...

Re: Germanwings to replace Lufthansa on STR-BRU route

They have been offering miles for month now. Flew CGN-MRS this summer and got my M&M miles credited. So far they only offered premium miles, but NO status miles which help to (re-) qualify for FTL , SEN or HON status. This they will now start as well and for frequent travelers it is essential I...

Re: Germanwings to replace Lufthansa on STR-BRU route

According to http://www.air-journal.fr/2011-12-15-lufthansa-laisse-ses-vols-stuttgart-europe-a-germanwings-541064.html Lufthansa will transfer to Germanwings all its lines to/from Köln and Hannover, same as with Stuttgart - and a good part of the domestic (german) routes. It's meant to beat Ryanair...

Re: Lufthansa plans to sell BMI

To euroflyer, I am tempted to say that he could be right, which leads me indirectly to think that LH will not fully take over b.air, that LH just wanted a big share of the airline to prevent AF-KL and BA/IAG from grabbing SN, and this could lead us to the conclusion that SN will not be taken over b...

Re: Lufthansa plans to sell BMI

why should LH sell bmi tp VS and thereby help a 'competitor' somehow linked to the own camp to get a stronger position in UK? Even if airlines like VS and LH are somehow linked via SQ and the *alliance, they are still independent companies aiming at making a profit for their own company. UK is BA's ...

Re: Air Berlin from Brussels?

What can Air Berlin add which is not yet offered (on BRU-BER) by SN and easyJet? More competition should mean lower prices. And lower prices means less profit ... so why should AB, a company which is in heavy problems at the moment and is reducing the number of routes it is operating, open such a s...

small question: to get your airmiles, is it also not better to talk to a real person? ( in case that you did not do a website booking ) And something you cannot ask a machine: "Can I get an upgrade?" Actually depending on the booking situation of the flight the LH check-in system both on ...

Re: SN obliges b.light passengers to use self check-in in BR

well, hm, I tend to disagree with most of you here  I accept that 470 Euro for a b.light return to Gothenburg is not really THE bargain of the century and yes, I would expect some service for that amount of money as well. So far, so good. However, in more general terms, I guess most b.light ti...
