Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

From the moment the economy is rising again, Houston can be a good route for CO so 2 hub' s served by CO than. About UA, UA will do everything to beat AA on the route to ORD without SN that would never work in the past, but now everyting is changed. And CO will do everything to beat AA on the route'...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Only Asia carriers in the afternoon? What about the UA they are flying already from 25 october in the afternoon a LHR route for connections with ORD. They can eventually flying the route ORD-BRU and AUD-BRU non stop in the morning and a non stop flight ORD-BRU in the afternoon, exactly for CO....

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Conti764, the aiport of BRU has a capacity of 30 million, we are now at 18.5 million. They only need to renovate some old parts of the airport and the problem of to bussy check in area is gone. They have to expand the A pier, not build a whole new building. ;)

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Again, why should SN adapt to a airport? Isn't that the world upside down? I mean, it is not unimaginable that in 5 to 7 years time, SN (and its partners) have grown back to what sabena was in 2000, so the airport should start to prepare for that, especially given the fact it has also attracted som...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

But when airliners like Thai, ANA and Singapore airlines come they want connections to AFI but the B terminal is absolutly full in the morning, so BRU need to expand the A terminal (this is possible for sure) with the perspective to operate non schengen routes. Otherwise this airliners need to arriv...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines

They are negotiating about a earlier slot, so they can operate in the morning. This would be perfect for a bussines trip for one day to Milan. I hope they will get this slot. You can book a b-bussines ticket for around the 1200 euro's, taxes included. Or a absolutly cheap ticket for only 97 euro's i...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

They already have the option to thake the other 55% of SN in April 2010 and than April 2011, they can choose. :P But I think the Virgin Group don't have a stake in the SN Airholding. They selled Virgin Express to the SN Airholding so wy should they have a stake in the SN Airholding?

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

But I have a question. From 25 october, UA is flying that afternoon flight (15:35 arr. in BRU I think) from London. Can this be a beginning for a non-stop route to ORD in the afternoon flying by United? If this gonne happen, than SN can fly more afternoon flights (in Europe) to feed this flights, bu...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

AFI is SN his money maker, the European network is loss making. When SN expand his AFI network it will atract also more EU pax. And they are expanding their European network, from october they are flying an extra daily flight to Copenhagen(5 daily flights on weekdays), 2 extra flights a week to Viln...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines

Again a sign of the entry of SN into *A at the end of this year, because the codeshare with Alitalia need to end and they want to back up this with an own route. Alitalia will lose the codeshare and gone have problems with this route I think. Is there something nown about the hours of the ...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Yes but that is still not for the first 2-3 years. For each US route you need olmost one whole airplane for this one route. And for a profitable route they need to fly very much (daily of each weekday) so their isn't a lot space left for other operations. And one aircraft for one route is not a good...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Indeed you are absolutly correct, finally somone who nows that SN need to focus on AFI and only on AFI for the first years with their own planes. And now with the economy wich is bussy to recover, I think we don't need to wait until begin 2010, when they want to start new AFI services in summer 2010...

Re: Air Canada daily from Montréal to Brussels

I think that is more than flying Bussines on a Jet Airways flight to Toronto. :P But AC now that this is a route that attract a lot pax and I think they start with high prices because AC want to earn a lot of money with this route and even with this high prices pax gone fly with AC to Montreal. But ...

Re: Air Canada daily from Montréal to Brussels

I was just thinking, is a daily 763 for Montreal not a bit less. Brussels Airport itself said already that Montreal one of the most important long haul destinations for BRU is. So there gonne be a lot of pax and than with all the connection passanger of SN. I think Air Canada can upgrade this route ...

Re: OLT probably starts new route BRU-EHGG!

I don't now if you ever look at the routes between Amsterdam and Groningen and Brussels and Groningen. With the car Brussels- Groningen is 360km. The route Amsterdam-Groningen is only 180km with the car. Now you can say why a route Groningen- Amsterdam with a Fokker 50 (50 pax) didn't work and a rou...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Doha is a route that is perfect for QR, but not for SN. And even for QR everything depends on a big contract with the US/NATO. Look at CO, wy are they performing so well on Newark, because they have contracts with the goverment of the US and AA and DL doesn't on the JFK route. The NATO can generate ...

Re: OLT probably starts new route BRU-EHGG!

Groningen-Amsterdam is a domestic flight in a small country, that don't work. And in the beginning VLM was very happy with the amount of passangers on the flights Amsterdam-Groningen-London-City. So I think a flight to Brussels and Copenhagen from Groningen can work. Daily two Metroliners that are o...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines

Yes but I ment Orly also only as a plan if CDG isn't possible. I think that LH will change a lot by SN, the German company's has most of the time wonderfull management and if you look at LH and Swiss this is absolutly correct. So LH nows how they need to "beat" Air France and I am sure the...
