Re: BRU Summer 2016: news, new routes, airlines
Let me explain, I love BRU airport but I need to admit I'am not a frequent traveller but my family does. but I'am the one who needs to book their tickets for asia. I love aviation and I love reading this website and I'am checking everyday the section Re: BRU Summer 2016: news, new routes, airlines ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I see that Air Europa/Vueling and other airlines are still flying to Liege/Lille. A friend has also had a flight from Scotland cancelled. What is the situation now? Clearly not back to normal? Is Brussels running to 50% of its capacity, more, or less?

Re: Lufthansa to decide on 27 April whether to take over all of Brussels Airlines
https://www.monarchie.be/nl/agenda/audience-3 Maybe somebody already knows... Some people here were sceptical about this meeting between Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr and King Philip. I was the first to ask whether something was brewing: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45737&...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I just saw on FR24 that Ethihad to Brussels is still landing in Dusseldorf. Is it scheduled to come back to Brussels, and if so when? What about Emirates and Thai? Thanks to Sean1982 for a report on load factors. Any similar reports from other airlines/routes? Presumably, this is to be expected, the...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I flew from Frankfurt to Brussels today (pretty full flight, but not sure about the return flight). Although the departures board looked like they had regular departures, the terminal looked pretty empty. Is BRU still operating at so called 20% capacity?

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Does that mean the airport is opening as planned tomorrow? I'm due to fly Lufthansa on Saturday. Am obviously checking with the airline, but wondering if they'll be flying from Brussels or Liege by then?

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
Does anybody know what the load factors out of Frankfurt are. How full are the flights? Is it working out okay for SN?

Does anybody know how well SN long haul flights out of Frankfurt are doing? Half empty/half full? Good yields overall?

Re: Brussels Airlines flights to Washington?
Well... OK. I find them related. I guess my question is how do they cope with the extra flight? New plane (which touches on fleet renewal), or re-jigging things around?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Bru Airlines flights to Washington?
Thanks. A quick search shows that oo-tcq is Thomas Cook A 320 . So far, then, how are they covering the demand created from the Washington flight? Transfering flights normally flown by A330, e.g, to Africa to the 320?

Brussels Airlines flights to Washington?
Hi again,
Another thing I saw in the in-flight magazine is that Brussels Airlines is returning to Washington D.C My question - how does Brussels Airlines handle this new flight? Are they going to add a new plane to their fleet?
Thanks

Re: re-positioning crew member?
Hi there, Thanks. Sorry, so I understand what you're saying. The captain might have flown BRU-FCO the night before, but not the return flight? And so that assumes there was a 2nd captain the night before also flying as a passenger? To Avroflyer: are captains contractors? And again, do they tend to d...

re-positioning crew member?
Hi there, Flew FCO-BRU this morning. To my surprise, there appeared to be a captain within passengers. I think he is from Brussels Airlines, as I could make out a small 'B' logo within his wings on the shirt. So does anybody know what he might have been doing there? Definitely didn't seem to be 'aud...

Thanks for the very thorough explanation. There must be a similar logic at play with Boeing, I assume

What's in a name, or how manufacturers brand their planes
Hi there, Does anybody know how/why manufacturers end up branding their planes the way they do? So for example, why 737, 787, and so on? Any meaning to those digits? And likewise with the Europeans - what's with 320, 340, and so on.... As far as I can tell, every other plane manufacturer (Embraer, C...

Re: startup on stand + flaps down for A330
Hi, 1. Was it hot where you were flying? The 330 tends to give a wing overheat warning in hot environments thats why they lower the flaps to let the air circulate and thus cooling the trailing edge . 2. Probably what you saw was a air starter so thats why one engine was started at the gate already....

startup on stand + flaps down for A330
Hi there, I just did a return flight on an airline that won't be named. This was a short hop on an A330. I noticed a few things: 1. Upon boarding, the flaps were down, probably set to 2. I've noticed different birds from the same airline and different types (e.g. A321) on occasions have their flaps ...
