Re: Ryanair passengers held hostage

If I look at the timeline, I have little doubt that the staff involved in this event acted to limit the financial damage for the airline, knowing that this would result in discomfort for the passengers. Example: the fuel story. First they announce that there’s a delay because the aircraft had to do ...

Re: Live: ET B763ER holding over GVA, hijack

Few weeks ago, the captain of a LAM (Mozambique) waited till his co-pilot left him alone in the cockpit (also for a toilet break) to lock himself in the cockpit. He didn't asked for asylum in Switserland though, but crashed the brand new E195 in nearby Botswana, killing the 30 passengers and crew. A...

Boeing also stated that Air India is not happy with the performance of the 787 ", but that they are not either." It is also said (not by Boeing or AI, but the typical "officials" the Indian media refers to) that AI is not happy with the fuel performance of the aircraft. The firs...

@Flanker2: you might want to take a look on a worldmap before you continue with all your China to Africa via Brussels theories. And 14 frequencies to Asia on 2 A330s? Maybe have a look at the online timetable of Lufthansa, Air France or British Airways (beware of the time difference ). All that I w...

Good numbers and I hope that it will help SN out to reduce their losses to a sustainable level. It's going to be hard to keep track of how much of the growth will be owed to FR/VY in the coming months. It will be more surprising to see how many passengers Charleroi will loose to Brussels in the com...

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination

No, because only one A330 was added to the fleet, so they had to choose, and they chose IAD I know from a reliable source that Brussels Airlines first decides on a new route, and only then looks for an aircraft to do that route. That is indeed different from the fleet expansion within your airline ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination

I know from a reliable source btw that SN was offered by LH to operate a daily ACC flight (which used to be done on a 737 BBJ, but soon will be operated by an A333) but SN management decided not do that and to fly to IAD instead. Another fantastic decision. If this would be true, Lufthansa for sure...

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination

In any way,... the resources for this flight that was already served well by partner UA could have served better purposes, such as starting a freaking flight to Asia that isn't already operated by anyone else and would have procured more significant Africa feed while also enabling SN to make better...
