Re: 5th A330 for Brussels Airlines
SAA announced a few days ago an order for A330's, a conversion of their previous A340 'dispute' order. NCB, you really should try to accept that the world wide web is not the answer to all questions. You are a master in surfing the net, but you obviously fail to understand that your www-source some...

Re: 5th A330 for Brussels Airlines
I see that SN is looking at streamlining B737/A319 into one type. Good judgement call but old news, they said that a year ago already. Then read: "initiated a search for a 5th A330", so they are yet far from finding one. Lufthansa indeed said that SN would be profitable in 2010, but they ...

Is it me or has TAAG been removed from the black list, at least partially (777) not so long ago? Only their 777's are unbanned - but only to fly from/to Lisbon (main market for TAAG). Quote from the EU in the blacklist comment from 14/07/2009: "Progress made by the civil aviation authority of ...

Could it be that they discussed the major dividend payment? I can hardly imagine them announcing measures towards employees on the same day that they announce a massive dividend payment to their shareholders. Aviation has always been a risky business, and aviation is nowadays the worst branch for r...

HBA's biggest sales argument was its luggage policy: 40 kg outbound D.R.Congo, 50 kg inbound D.R.Congo. Plus 10 kg handluggage.

Brussels Airport: important announcement on Thu 29/10/2009
There is a special meeting from the Ondernemingsraad / Conseil d'Entreprise on Thursday morning. For the non-Belgian luchtzakkers: the OR / CE is a reunion in which ownership and/or management have to announce important decisions to the unions, before advising them to the employees. So there will be...

Very bad news: Today, a 73 year old passenger died on a Pegasus flight from Antalya to Brussels. Three nurses onboard apparently gave first aid, but the passenger was declared dead upon arrival. The flight was expected in BRU at 14h25, but made a detour to Prague. PGT5259 then arrived in BRU at 17h40.

Movements are one part of the equation, passenger volumes are another. Is it as bad as back to 1994 in terms of passenger volumes? DHL's departure, Jet Airways' reduced offer, SN's own rationalization exacerbated with its acquisition by Lufthansa and its entry into Star Alliance have to weight on m...
