Re: Security lacks minimum hygiene
What happens when you or a passenger refuses to take off his/her shoes ? Probably depending if it compulsory or voluntarily. If compulsory, you'll probably be take separate by security personnel and then the police comes on stage. But if you want to fly, just follow the rules no matter how stupid t...

Re: Security chaos at Brussels last night
checking pilots => good, it doesn't matter that there is a huge axe near them, it's know to be there, and if they want to crash there own plane, ok there is nothing you can do about it, but they can smuggle weapons in the secure area pass it to others and they can use it on other planes. And pilots...

Maw: is er een bouwstop in die gebiedne of zijn die gebieden aangeduid als uitbreiding luchthaven voor eventueel 4de en 5de runway.

US immigration in Europe
Does anyone knows how it happened that in Dublin there is US immigration so that you don't have to pass immigration in the US? Does it requires a specific number of flights and political will ? If we could have it in BRU it could attract more flights to the USA ?

Re: Jet Airways joins Star Alliance?
OFF TOPIC Aside the passport control they'll also have to build an extra customs office inside the A-pier since it is not allowed for non-shengen pax (subject to customs) to mix up with shengen pax (free from customs) before they pass the customs office. Not true, There is a difference between immig...

Re: Security Fast Lane
Problem 1 they security staff at the passenger screening are blue collar workers (arbeider) and not white collar workers (bediende) meaning it isn't that attractive as a job. Problem 2 The metal detectors generate a lot of random alarms meaning those people have to been frisk search even though they...

Re: Flying when 8 Months Pregnant
I just don't understand why the nationality would depend of the place of birth. Or of the nationality of the airline. Normally, the nationality of the baby is the same as that of the parents, isn't ? In Belgium and (most) European countries the baby gets the nationality of the parents, in Countries...

Re: Flying when 8 Months Pregnant
according to VTM news , the baby receive free flights with delta and because it's an American airline it also receives the American Nationality. "Easy way" (except the actual birth maybe) to give your child a chance on a better future if you're not having the "perfect" nationalit...

Re: AVIAPARTNER in financial trouble
3i probably overpaid the take over. They paid more than what they could create from power of control (because I don't see economies of scale here). And leveraged Aviapartner to pay for the take over. So as long as there is a high growth this is not a real problem, but from the moment that there is m...

You just tell at the check-in that you only want to check-in in until london and that you will need your luggage in london (e.g. you will need to give someone something out off your suitcase and that you know that you will have to go back to check-in in london). You don't have to mention that you st...

Future Airline tickets
Do you think that airline tickets will evolve like ordering a pc at DELL. So you have the standard ticket which include the flight with hand luggage. And if you want to take suitcase you have to pay extra per piece per kilo. Do you want a meal you pay extra, do you want fast check in you pay extra, ...

Re: visas
My Chinese colleagues get their visa for Holland in 1 week maximum, for Belgium in "approximatively" 3 weeks. Which airline do you think they fly? And to which airport ? They will go to the Dutch consulate to get a Dutch visa that is valid for the three Benelux countries and they will fly...
