Re: Brussels Airport: 30 minutes of free WiFi

30 minutes is indeed quite short.
I also hope the current system has enough bandwith to handle the extra users. I remember in Doha the WiFi was useless because of that.

I thought the famous (and expensive!) diabolo was meant to avoid that constraint.
It does, for trains going to Mechelen/Antwerp.

why is the Bruges-Brussels-Leuven- Tongeren train not making a stop at the airport? Because it would need to change direction ("kop maken") at the airport, driving in from the South and leaving to the South again. This is a complex operation, taking at least 20 minutes if my old memory se...

Just kidding of course.

Re: Name for airplanes

Lufthansa names their A380's to cities around the world. Their other planes are named after famous places. AFAIK Brussels Airlines does not name its aircraft.

There is no real logic, mostly famous places/landmarks/cities/countries. Or emotions like at Jetairfly and Thomas Cook.

I think it was the captain who had 40-something hours on the B777, coming from B737/B747. The F/O had plenty of hours on B777.

FR24 shows GS, quite low indeed. I wonder how much the fact that ILS and VASI/PAPI were U/S played.

Re: Airbus A350 news

Can anybody tell me if the gear remaining down above the clouds is a standard procedure for a first flight? Will they test it later in this flight or in another? It is indeed standard procedure. They first test the aircraft like this before moving to a full 'clean' config (gear up - flaps up). A350...
