Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Don't you think that, as employees and aviation enthusiasts, we should, stick together and defend the airport and the jobs against Nimby's? I do agree. But to be fully honest, Brussels city supports around, if not even more, 75% of all departure trafic. There is a real imabalance on that matter sin...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
What do you mean by reasonable ? To support all the noise without having any right on anything ? It's not serious. 50% of DEP out of runway 19 would, as well, seriously reduce the airport capacity, and it's not the idea. The idea is to spread fairly the nuisance, not to be sly, dishonest or whatsoev...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
In 2013, over 73000 departures, more than 52000 of them overflew Brussels. Nearly 80% of DEP out pf 25R... This without taking into account all the arrivals on 01 and 07L. Quite expensive if you compare with the 3000 jobs Brussels get at the airport !

Re: Brussels region noise regulation 2
It is very acceptable if you use common sense : - the wind is always right. No funky political bypass. - rural wins over dense area Is that really common sense? "Dense areas should get less flights then rural areas? If you live in Tervuren or in Wezenbeek-Oppem or in Meise, you should get 10 t...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation 2
Brussels needs international tourists and businessmen/women, and they come in via BRU. Hotels, restaurants, shops, convention centres, taxis in Brussels are dead without tourists and businessmen flying into BRU. Flanders mainly needs the airport because of its general interest to the industry: carg...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation 2
Of course Atlantis, you're absolutely right : to build a new int'nl airport in Belgium is close to heretical. Would cost billions just for materials, would take years to finish over, would refrain millions passengers to transit via "BE", would open a star way to compteition... That's why w...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation 2
So you spread it ,today 80% of the take off go over Brussels if you now that it's the most populated area and that only 10 to 15% of people from Brussels work at the airport it's not fair. Do you have any source for that ? Yes Brussels will anyway have less noise in the future and that's normal. St...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation 2
If Brussels is going to hurt the economy of Flanders by hurting Brussels Airport (= as Vanhengel & Vervoort promise), To be more precise, the economy of flanders (honestly not really at hurt in that matter) could be "easily" saved by taking more flights above flemish territory. Rendon...

Re: A new big airport in Belgium
You're right, a new international airport could be builded in wallonia regio. Why not ? But again : at what cost ? when will it enter into service ? What about passengers during the constrution time ? Bref, same refrain as of Olieslagers.
The bruairlibre PDF is very instructive.Thx a lot.

Re: A new big airport in Belgium
But again : what about cost ? Money needed to build a new international airport is HUGE. What about the transition period, full of opportunities for EBCI and EBLG ? Senseless.

Re: A new big airport in Belgium
Without airplanes above their heads ? No sense. Nevertheless, in this country no one regio can do anything of importance without the will of the others. That's it.jan_olieslagers wrote: ↑18 Feb 2017, 18:28Forget it. They have made it amply clear they'll always find something to cry about.hence no more complain from them

Re: A new big airport in Belgium
It would be a much more definitive solution. Give the @#$%^& a finger today and they'll want an arm tomorrow. No long-term solution that way. Okay, but moving the 25's (runways) as little as a kilometer farther to the right let Brussels regio absolutely un-overflown, hence no more complain from...

Re: A new big airport in Belgium
Could be an option. What about the cost of a brand new install vs a move to a bit farther to the east of the existing one ?

Re: Brussels region noise regulation 2
Now, let's see how many % pax originate from Brussels and the Walloon region... And if normal linguistic regulations would be taken into account that 10 - 15% of workers would be even lower. The number of pax using BruAir., originating from Brussels, cannot be taken into account for this subject be...

Lumumba, the problem then would be a massive concentration of flights on Flanders only. Not acceptable.
