I even noticed a VLM F50 diverted from Liège! Since when is VLM flying to Liège? Is it not WLM (Waalse Luchtvaart Maatschappij) ?

Vance, you correctly translated my opinion. Now DAT has no obligation whatsoever to the general public, since it is a privately held company. As long as the shareholders and the National Bank (once a year) are correctly informed, it is OK according to the Belgian law.

Lien wrote:Why has Aldo Vastapane still not paid a dime(euro) of his promised investment increase ?
Lien,

Vastapane is the only person that dared to invest in Sobelair. He has done his part of the job. Now others should co-operate as well, and if they do, Vastapane will invest even more.

I agree with you on the fact that the LF doesn't really say the amount of money the company makes, since it doesn't say how many business pax travelled and the average prize of the tickets that were sold. BUT since it's the only information that is available for us, it's the only way we can "a...

AEA week 49: Dip in intra-European traffic growth, but overall increase sustaine

<t>The Association of European Airlines has released traffic data for the week ending December 7th. Overall traffic growth compared to the same week in 2002 was 5.8%. This was broadly in line with recent results, although a little lower due to a dip in the intra-European traffic trend line to +3.3%....

It is remarkable to note that the Alitalia livery has not changes in 25 years.

If Comet could understand this, she woud not be pleased. Would she remain a VLM fan? I'm not sure.

Erwin, since Dutch is not my mother tongue, I will leave it to you to translate :)

Today there will be a staff council at Sobelair. Staff will be asked a new salary reduction. The negotiation will be difficult, because the unions fear that staff will be the only persons to pay for saving Sobelair. Meanwhile, it seems that a compromise with DSF for the lease of 2 B767s has been rea...

<t>Chilean flag carrier LanChile took delivery of its first A319 from Airbus. The airline already successfully operates a fleet of 14 A320s and four A340s. The arrival of the A319 at the carrier’s base in Santiago represents a further step in LanChile’s fleet modernisation plans. The A319 will repla...

Vance,

The two lonely planes of TUI Belgium will certainly not suffice to cope with the huge demand of the summer months. However they could hurt Sobelair a lot during the winter months.

Even today flights from Venice are delayed. A problem at the airport seems to be the most logical explanation.

On the other hand, Sobelair has still more problems. Its slight by 738 from Mombasa via Hurghada is cancelled.

Any explanation?
