Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Couldn't agree more. This section should never become a good news show for SN. However, the daily bashing from a handful of grumps, some retired "journalists"who know very well how to blow facts out of proportion, how to manipulate readers by claiming their yearly trips are tenfold of wha...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Or even cheaper than the simple CDG-FIH, as experienced many time by French colleagues of mine who then took the train to Brussels-Midi/Zuid to join me for the AF trip via CDG! Exactly, this causes unnecessary congestion and pollution. A simple law to allow skiplagging would solve this problem very...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Hard to believe this indeed... installing wifi can't be that difficult or expensive? and passengers are surely willing to pay for this extra service... Everything on an aircraft is expensive! It’ll be at least 250.000€ to install, increase maintenance and cause an extra fuel burn of 1%. Impossible ...

Re: 2023 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
How do prices on this route compare between Tuifly and Ryanair ? Why compare with Ryanair from an airport 2 hours away? The competition is SN from Brussels. Both airlines use a dynamic pricing model, so comparing is difficult. Departing from Antwerp is a lot less time consuming, which may have a va...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
I completely agree. It is a sick and childish hobby to look each day at flight schedules hoping that one could report a SN mishap ,only to promote the far superior AF and CDG :roll OMG. Petit pays... Although the comment original wasn’t really funny, it was clearly a tongue in cheek comment! (Only ...

Re: Air Belgium in 2023
Air Belgium said: “ …paid tickets will be reimbursed as a priority in the scope of the judicial reorganisation proceedings… ” This is not true. The refund of tickets is an obligation by European legislation (EU-Rule 261/2004). A Belgian court cannot wave a European Rule. And 261/2004 states: “to be...

Re: Air Belgium in 2023
The title is wrong: Air Belgium doesn't scrap ALL passenger flights, it scraps only SCHEDULED passenger flights. ACMI flights can also involve passengers. And most of the Belgian press, either Flemish or French, makes the same mistake. Aren’t we a little bit too pedantic here André? Most of your (c...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
that's the strength of Brussels Airlines, it's precisely having the experience of being able to continue to fly to Africa otherwise it would be too easy and the competition would come quickly people anyway will continue to fly .... Even if it means cancelling LAD now and then? (Sorry Patrice, could...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
The second cancellation in two days resulted in an angry mob: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthansa-group/brussels-airlines/passenger-uproar-brussels-airlines-two-day-ordeal-in-kinshasa-drc/ A cancelled flight is always a big hassle the passengers are, understandably upset and angry, BUT beh...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
Let's hope that SN can increase the number of new destinations in Africa Not sure if that’s the best option. There’s a lot of political unrest in Africa lately with a coup somewhere every two to three months for the last three years. Often countries which are not deemed newsworthy, but these coups ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
And last but not least look at the destinations SN is flying : to what extend technical problems are not caused by the reality that in sub Saharan Africa you might not have the local skills, spare parts available and generally the infrastructure for state of the art aircraft? In those markets often...

Re: D R Congo creates an airline with Air France-KLM: Congo Airways
However, SN nor AF/KLM can't seem to make a local airline work, albeit both companies having heaps of experience in flying to Africa. The operational know how is not a problem at all, quite the opposite. Unfortunately, the unavoidable, corruption, embezzlement and nepotism are lethal in an industry...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Well, at least an additional plane will limit the risk of this : SN245 20230912.png SN245 that was due to fly SN245 to FNA today. The opposite in fact! An additional aircraft scheduled 6/7 will only increase the risk of a cancellation. If you want to increase resilience you need a spare aircraft no...

A Brussels Airlines A320 (SN3290), on its way from BRU to TLV on Friday morning was hit by a lightning strike. This is confirmed by a spokesperson. The aircraft (OO-TCH) had to turn around and land again in BRU. The aircraft sustained minor damage, but no injuries were reported. https://www.nieuwsb...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
I think they can grow in LAD but never intend to with the triangular flight, even RAM is doing much beter and arrived so much later on this market and yes that is my opinion about what they did . I'm not against flights at Brussels Airport at all it can grow over my head I grew up in Evere so I know...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
I understand but when Lufthansa and Brussels decrease together than is weird to me plus the Niger crisis and you lose passengers....to other airlines. From 6 to 2 flights it's weak and a mistake! In my opinion it's greedy what they tried, just to maximize there profit they will lose marker share. So...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Exactly but it's a decrease and Lufthansa did the same I never said it was definitely but it's weird for the summer season even more knowing that lufhansa did the same...and now Brussels Airlines have to cancel so they only have 2 flights till September...that's weak. Making cost efficient adjustme...
