Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Knowing attrition is a problem, the spokesperson would have certainly mentioned retirement.
There was a big wave of forced early retirement during the 2020 reorganisation, so not many, if any, SN pilots are eligible for retirement in the coming years.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

A friend was recently invited to a SN direct entry captain selection: out of the 5 candidates 3 made it to the second day, ou...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
I understand the W-pattern Crew1990 explains, but they'll need a crew to do the BRU-BOS leg and afterwards again a crew doing BOS-BRU. Quite a costly operation, no? You, clearly, don’t understand! Example of an IAH based crew duty: Day 1: IAH-BRU Day 3: BRU-BOS Day4: BOS-BRU Day6: BRU-IAH. Why woul...

Star was not the only alliance. Qualiflyer was another one. So good that the high flyers of it ended up as LH subsidiaries. Not at all, Qualiflyer disappeared when Swissair and Sabena went bankrupt 22 years ago! You didn't got the irony? The grass is not greener somewhere else. Your irony doesn’t m...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
And the wifi does not necesssarily have to be offered for free, I'm sure that most passengers will accept to pay some extra for it (e.g. € 10,00 for the whole flight).. We had this discussion a couple of months ago: Hard to believe this indeed... installing wifi can't be that difficult or expensive...

It seems that both A330NEO's will leave the fleet: https://simpleflying.com/air-belgium-retire-airbus-a330neo-engine-issues/ Yup, it is a statement of fact : I'm the original writer. Due to many problems with the RR Trent 7000. However it is the first time that it is told that there are problems wi...

Hence my clarification as non-stop is direct but direct isn’t always non-stop. (The triangular flights are direct but not non-stop.)

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
It’s not because something isn’t understandable at first sight that there is no rationale behind it, and every one taking part to the decision you’re questioning yourself about is the least qualified person you can think of, just because it’s SN… 🙄 So stop being concerned about our financials guys....

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
… there are more than 1.000 busses per day who are serving BRU. The new tram is coming, train connections are there from each angle of the country, new bike routes to the airport, etc etc Indeed! A couple of things could be improved though: later and especially earlier trains and busses, high speed...

Re: Crashes and serious incidents/accidents in 2024
I just read United, Copa and some other major airlines grounded their Boeing 737 Max 9’s for extra inspection of the specific panel/emergency exit that caused the Alaska Airlines incident. But what about Ryanair and its Boeing 737 Max 8-200’s ? If not mistaking, they have this same extra emergency ...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
2022, 2023 and 2024 had and will have the biggest growth. 2022 had almost 9 million pax more, 2023 had 4 million pax more and 2024 will be around the same. 2025 and 2026 will have each 1.4 million pax more. But again, this is the traffic forecast based on the current reservations and increasing tra...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Why we can't place it here if one of the organisations is in favor???? It's related regarding the permit and why it should be all the time negative info here? It’s not a vote but an advice. Why would that be an important advice? As PttU pointed out VOKA giving a negative advice would be the same as...
