Re: Plane carrying Polish president crashed near Smolensk airp't
Read the full report (60 pages with many illustrations): it has a very scientific look. But the original Russian report (with the cooperation of the previous Polish government) is not less scientific! It may have a scientific look, but.... I only read the part about ATC and that doesn’t make much s...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
If I can just add something Poiu, you said that at Lufthansa, they work less day a month. What you say is right but let me just explain the reason. 1990,lets stay on topic, this is not about comparing LH with SN, it was just to illustrate that people are, rightfully, worried by an integration into ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
l. Per diems are per definition without taxes, and they are also not 50% higher between LH and SN. Some of the per diems is money you need to eat because you are in an expensive place abroad, it is not salary! If you don't benefit from per diems on most foreign trips (=having money after deducting ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
When you fly full time , you always reach between 2500 and 3000 at brussels airlines (thank to the per diem), I do not work for Lufthansa and I don't know their salary, but if they earn the double as you say (meaning they earn between 5000 and 6000€ a month) then indeed I would prefer their work co...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Of course there would be complain, we have some good working condition at Brussels Airlines, not perfect, it can always be better of coure but I think most of us are very happy with our condition. The proof is that strike by SN employee is quite rare. While in Lufti you almost have a strike once a ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
I do agree with you regarding a possible rebranding of brussels airlines into belgianwings or eurobelgianwings... However, Stefan Kreuzpainter’s interview clearly stages that the brussels airlines brand will diseappear to be replaces by Eurowings on medium haul flights!!! He's actually saying: &quo...

Re: 2018 Air France union strike days; demanding wage increases
André, where is your objective source for this prediction? I thought better of your journalism than to merely echo the victim's bleating. Exactly, Jan! Same with the number of strikers, André, echoing management, pretends a minority of 36% of the pilots is on strike. With 7 crews/aircraft and 36% o...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
I recently flew Oman Air's 787 in C class with full lie flat seats in a 2x2x2 configuration with a clever aisle access for the two window seats. I found this more pleasant than the 1x2x1 or even 1x1x1 configurations where seats are positioned at an angle where sometimes you are turning away from th...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
The return flight from Havana BV1619 landed at MXP with a delay of two hours. On-time performance of Air Belgium looks rather poor until now... Let's hope the teething problems will be over soon. A bit harsh no? Rescue flights and last minute charters are often late because of non familiar equipmen...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Actually I don't care where the shareholders comes from, as long as employee based in Belgium are paying their taxes in Belgium. They will pay their taxes in the same way as employees of SN, TUI... Which doesn’t necessarily mean Belgium for employees living abroad, they will have to comply with wha...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Your comparison taking the inaugural flight is unfair. I think it depends how you look at the flight. We all know it's their inaugural flight, so OK. From a normal passenger's point of view however, it's not really unfair if I really need to take the flight on these specific dates. Best regards, Iv...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Your comparison taking the inaugural flight is unfair. You should take random dates in May: I've done it and KF/ABB is by far the cheapest with 448.37 € return. Indeed, and a 2 day stay in HKG is not representative for the average traveller either. As soon as you go for a stay of 7 days or more it’...

They should offer a guaranteed empty seat next to you for a smal surcharge, 550 for two seats would be a bargain.

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Last year, at the end of June, I paid 455€ for Brussels to HKG in mid-September with British Airways. I was expecting the same price with Air Belgium but it’s 560€ for the same trip. Also, they charge 25€ for seat selection when BA charges 16€. A bit disappointing. Last year..... this year you will...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
I'm not sugercoating it Sean, but calling it 'social dumping at its best' is just crazy. It makes perfect sense for EW to keep their own operations 'clean' by only having short/medium haul operations under their own AOC('s) and rather make use of another fully owned subsidiary of the group which is...
