Amazing "Greyhound" emergency landing

Don’t know if everybody’s seen this, but it’s a short video clip of a Navy C-2A “greyhound” cargo plane making an emergency landing in Virginia. The pilot commented afterwards that it was a better landing than any carrier landing he’d made. :D http://www.wvec.com/cgi-bin/bi/video/makeadplaylist.pl?t...

I heard on the radio that Alaska was looking at buying part of Delta's west coast operations (Salt Lake City, L.A.) but will wait until bankruptcy to proceed. Honestly I just don't see why anyone would want even a part of this airline. Their costs are just so screwed up that even bankruptcy can't sa...

The Arizona Republic has written an article about the evacuation slides and the fact they were made by Honeywell here in Phoenix. It doesn't really go in to detail, but I'll keep my eye out for anymore news about the slides in the local newspaper here. http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/0804...

I work right under the approach so I just have to look up, but BA lands on the north runway which I don't have line of sight too. Guess I'll have to get to the fence! ;)

I'm also impressed with its size vs the A340. Seeing them almost next to each other gives you a sense at how impressive it must be to see an A380 fly. I doubt we'll ever see one here in Phoenix except if it is flying overhead. We get a little tired of A320s and 737ngs. :D The only excitement one get...

It's not good new for sure, but I'm guessing Delta plans to push some routes on the "commuter" airlines and focus on what they consider more profitable routes.

Actually, I believe that Mesa is going to start operating for Delta Connection (in addition to UA) sometime in the fall. You are correct. The new Delta Connection agreement provides for Freedom Airlines to operate up to 30 CRJ200 aircraft on routes throughout Delta's network for a period of 12 year...

Mesa Air Group was never a part of the investment. I believe there was talk early on, but they decided not to join in. As the merger talks progressed, Mesa and Ornstein had been mentioned as possible players in the deal. Mesa's $275 million in cash was seen as a source of financing for the deal, and...
