Privatair.....

Good morning, On October 29 I will be flying from Dammam (Saudi Arabia) to Brussels via Frankfurt (that is, if this damned flu will be healed by then  ). Although the tickets were booked on Lufthansa, I just noticed on my e-ticket that this flight will be operated bij PRIVATAIR.... a company o...

Re: No breakfast on BA flight due to turbulence....

Hi Regi, To be honest, the last couple of years I haven't had one single flight without turbulence.... whether it be to Bangkok, Tokyo or Dubai, with BA, KLM or Austrian, always turbulence... When I flew into Dubai last November, we really had a bad "luchtzak": out of the blue (apparently ...

No breakfast on BA flight due to turbulence....

On Saturday February 21st I flew into Dubai with British Airways flight BA0105. The last two hours of the flight were very turbulent due to strong tailwinds, up to 200 miles per hour (according to the pilot). Because everyone had to remain seated (crew included) we did not get served breakfast..... ...

Shame on the airport of Zaventem...

On Monday, july 28 I left from Brussels to Tokyo. The first leg of my flight was with Austrian to Vienna. Boarding was at gate A45 at 10.10 Because boarding didn’t start on time I decided to go to the ladies “restroom” next to gate 45 at around 10.15. All of the toilets were incredibly dirty (I won’...

Re: Flight cancelled & rebooked entitled to compensation or not?

Because the original flight was at 07h05 I assume this plane didn't fly in in the morning, so normally they should have detected the technical failure the evening before.... and that left them plenty of time for finding a replacement aircraft, no? Anyway, my claim is in the hands of EUClaim, I am cu...

Re: Flight cancelled & rebooked entitled to compensation or not?

The only thing that keeps me from falling asleep (been on the road since 19u00 yesterday!) is surfing the web.... :)

And now it's time to go to the gate.....hopefully I'll be in Zaventem in a couple of hours (with my luggage?????)!

Flight cancelled & rebooked entitled to compensation or not?

This morning my (connecting from Bangkok) flight with Austrian Airlines OS 351 leaving Vienna at 07h05 got cancelled due to technical reasons (plane broke down). I am rebooked on flight OS 353 leaving Vienna at 13h50 and I was wondering if I was entitled to a financial compensation? At the info desk...

Security breach at Zaventem....

On monday August 6 I arrived from Amsterdam (coming from Tokyo) with the KLM Cityhopper KL 1731 at 18h25. Iwas one of the last to get off the Fokker 50 and I found myself all alone on the tarmac, nobody there to indicate me where to go so I ventured towards one of the buildings when I was (fortunate...

AMS - NRT with KLM

Hello, On July 24 I will be flying Brussels - Amsterdam - Tokyo with KLM and I have a question about the leg AMS-NRT: are there power points in economy on the 777-200/200ER that KLM uses? I cannot seem to find this info on the website of KLM..... I absolutely need to study for my "Belgian Law&q...

Seatlle Airport yesterday.....

Did anyone see the images on VTM Laat yesterday of planes trying to land with severe crosswinds?

It was quite scary to watch (I can only image how it must feel if you're IN the plane!), but one plane didn't even land but did a touch and go....

Impressive stuff!

Etihad flight EY0501 (11-08-2006): locked landing gear

This is my trip report I wrote while still on board last friday... Today (August 11th, 2006) I had some excitement aboard a Etihad plane : flight EY0501 (Airbus A330-200) with destination Brussels took off from Abu Dhabi at 13h20 with a couple of minutes of delay. We were hardly airborne when the ca...

Suvarnabhumi Airport: a personal experience!

I am to make some of you (at least I hope so... :) ) a little bit jealous…. Yesterday I was one of the less than 5000 lucky people who could fly in or out of the new Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport! I was able to book a flight from Suvarnabhumi to Phuket and let me tell you, it was worth all the hassle...

Airport Hotel Bangkok?

Hello, Is there, apart from the Amari Airport Hotel (215 US$ for 1 night), an affordable hotel in the vicinity of Don Muang Airport? I was thinking of staying at the Airport Suite (former Comfort Suites): good or bad choice? Thanks in advance, Erna P.S.: I have a ticket to fly out of the new Suvarna...

That is true, but not if you're a "healthy" female who's size is bigger than a European 36 or 38..... and I know, because the first time I went (now will be my 6th time) my luggage arrived the next day and it was hell to find something that fit me.... the only things I can buy that fit are...

From a "female" (ahum) point of view: I am also leaving for Thailand on the 22nd for a 3 weeks stay, but can anybody tell me how on earth you can survive on only 20 (or even 25) kilos of luggage? That is downright impossible, or you have to be a minimalist traveller.... apparently I am not...
