Re: Belgian Air Force tankers?
OK, off topic, but still good example. The forts were not intended to slow down an attack. They were intended to stop an attack. In which they failed completely. Similar to the fortress ring around Antwerp which crumbled as well under the large artillery.

Not all on board died during this emergency landing.
The PM flying in another chopper returned, probably becuse of security reasons.

Re: Sales of "Rafale"
What has a cheap € to do with a weapon program that will last +- 20 years? Spare parts in 2030 for example?
No, it is a ready, almost off the shelve product, that is heavely marketed on top level by the French politicians.
France is in crisis mode.

Re: Belgian Air Force tankers?
no off topics or politics dear NCB. I am a practical thinking person, and therefor unacceptable for the Belgian compromise model. :) It is all inter connected. "Does Belgium need tanker airplanes ?" is almost the same question if Belgium needs replacement for the F-16. But if the MoD seems...

Re: Fly-In for experimental planes in Belgium: EBLE, July 2015
I used especially "our" and "new M108" to provoke some reaction. Sadly enough, there is just 1 reaction on it. Come on dear members, some support for our national aeronautic pioneers is very welcome. It seems that > 100 years ago, there was more interest, see the story of Daniël ...

Re: 2015 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
by the way:
why would it be wrong to use Ostend airport to transport weapons?
Zeebrugge has been used as the major ammunition transit point between USA and Europe.
So why not the nearest airport?
I call this a non issue.

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
The news flow is so grimm: LH knew about his mental problems but the German aviation authority wasn't informed ( as it should have been - as I could understand ) I start to have the gut feeling that this will get very nasty for the company. Insurance companies will go after them. When " neglige...

Re: Where to base the Belgian A400M ?
I know that it sounds a bit ridiculous. It was jus a bit "out of the box thinking" 1 hangar to fully accept a A-400 ? Hm...good as long as you don't need to do more asap. Maybe a good idea for 1 fixed hangar. And a temporarely system, as our proud tent manufacturer Veldeman makes them in L...

Re: Downgrading of airlines in Thailand
You are one of the few who makes the effort to look a bit deeper into it. It is much more dramatic than banning some charter flights: the Thai aviation authority is pinpointed, and everything that is depending on it, Thai Airways as well. So yes, a ban on TG could come in effect as happened with Gar...

Orient Thai sudden plunge
An Orient Thai airplane between Phuket and Chengdu made a sudden plunge - probably intentional because of problem with pressurisation . ( and made an emergency landing at Kunming ) This plunge + drop of oxigen masks + unconfortable feeling ( bleeding noses ) made passengers panic. Understandable I w...

Previously I posted already that this a manager problem. If employees fear to loose their job because of health problems, this is a point to be solved by the managment. Employees with specific disorders should be given the chance to stay with the company ( I mentioned "auditor" for example...

Sean's question was about F/A's having caused a crash. And no, I don't think that any F/A ever caused a crash voluntarily.

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
Just read this statement as well. It finger points to a serious gap in the system. I am no doctor. But there seems to be an attitude that mental problems are treated too pragmatic. If you have a troath ache, you go to the doctor, he sees the red throath and subscribes medicin. After some days all is...

It is getting grimmer by the day. Reading that the co pilot had been treated for suicidal tendencies... Did his parents know about that? In case of "no", it is just another prove how lonely this person was. If "yes", than I would ask if his parents have taken steps, considering h...

So many impulsive reactions pop up in my mind - I don't speak for others.
It is difficult to keep a distance and not chose a direction that easely ends in extremism.
It is just so sad.
