Not sure about that one, how to ditch 200 planes and all employees without loosing money.

Only feasible option looks to me to sell the company all together.

Re: BA crew to walk out in March

from the BBC report: "Uncertainty still exists about just how many BA crew will go on strike after BA said that any staff who took part in strike action would lose perks, including heavily-discounted travel fares." This sounds like a threat, never a good point to hope to win someone for yo...

Re: Besides Aviapartner & Flightcare, a 3th handler at BRU ?

I'm all for it. Not only will it stear competition and frankly I don't understand why there should be a limit to this service market. I also think it could be useful for the home carrier to be able to run it's own ground handling and of course offer its services to visiting carriers. As for the com...

Re: Besides Aviapartner & Flightcare, a 3th handler at BRU ?

My cent is: nobody realy cares about working conditions for the workers loading the plane, as long as the service seems to be ok they can be exploited. And when these workers try to explain to passengers during strikes about near fatalities or extreme flexibility, they just tell them p*** off, we do...

You see, you can be interesting without attacking ... just giving facts and examples ... You gave 2 good examples, but I still don't understand what are their benefits in BRU. There's like a hole in the explanation I think this has to do with the road trip time (or distance) from the manufacturer t...

Well, for once we know why it had to be this big.

Just one question remains: will the flight hours in the lease contract be enough for this year?

Re: BRU airport website restricted viewing due to heavy traffic!

My bet: on the first of januari the site wil be up again in its full version. Because I think they hire a server with a TO SMALL monthly data transfer limit. Yes, to small due to heavy traffic after the snow. but still, data transfer limits aren't that expensive to explain the downsized site.

Re: B744 with 5 engines

I think all 744s have this modification on one wing (or maybe even both?) which enables them to carry along another engine. You're right. All 744 have these attachpoints on the left wing,......... but not all carriers (or a/c ??) are certified to fly with fifth pod. If memory serves well, a 747 eng...

Re: Misleading ads SN ??

just two items to be added to your calculation (1) the 737-400 is usually not 100% full, so dividing the fuel costs by 164 does not work ... (2) airlines tend to hedge the fuel costs (correct term?), meaning they buy it very early in order to secure the price and to avoid unforeseen price increases...

at last a judge with common sense hmmm... It just seems not wright to me. How many of those 90% of those in favour are going to leave the company? I bet it is less than 10% wich leaves still 80% in favour of the strike. So how fare is that ruling? I bet the judge just didn't want to get the blame f...

OO-JFP , you are very poorly informed , every airline has to pay for ATC regardless of how much they use it , or indeed wheather they are a Loco or legacy airline . FR get nothing for free anywhere, especially ATC. They get low rates at various airports , these rates are available to any airline who...
