Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
My bet : IAD I bet my money on IAD => NYC evening flight => Boston I wasn't considering IAD at all, with UA already on the route. Same for EWR. But perhaps IAD can sustain more flights, perhaps not daily from the start, but slowly. Instead of EWR, I look more into a second JFK flight. And again, I ...

Re: Next A330 for SN: 200 or 300? What should/will it be?
Somehow I have the feeling more A332's would do better for opening new routes, or increasing frequencies to their current destinations, without increasing the total capacity too much at a time. Of course, if costs are not really lower and you just end up with less seats, than it's not that great. An...

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
What I'd like to know is where Atlantis got the information from Before going on with this discussion, it would indeed be interesting to know where this came from. Is this just a rumour, or something SN is seriously considering? Perhaps EWR, and CVG, are just some of the destinations under evaluati...

Re: Future of Jet Airways in BRU!
There is for sure a future for Jet Airways at BRU but it seems that we lost two lines to Munich airport. The announced new line ex-Bangalore will not come to BRU but to MUC. Maybe, but then I would have expected them to move the MAA flight to MUC. Now they cancel MAA completely, and start up someth...

Re: BRU winter 2012-2013: latest news, routes, airlines
I guess its due to the civil war? Half the country has seceded from the rest and introduced the sharia, leading to a negative travel advice from most countries to go there.... It isnt exactly the country I'd do business in either? Is this the reason they are cutting (suspending?) this route? Or is ...

Re: SN's LF throughout the day
Thanks chrisflyer. I had not looked at it in terms of aircraft utilisation, intercontinental connectivity, and pricing. Interesting! I was stuck with planning hub waves ;) Looking at connectivity, they could have a late night departure in the USA (e.g. from JFK), arriving late morning in BRU. Same f...

SN's LF throughout the day
I was just wondering about SN's load factors and how those vary throughout the day. Latest figures for june were just below 70%. But how do these vary during the day? My point is, there is a lot of traffic in the morning and evening "hub waves" (don't know if these are really defined at SN...

Re: Ryanair plans wider doors to speed up boarding
Also something is needed to speed up disembarking, that might be a bit harder to do. A system that evacuates all overhead bins into a big container on the tarmac with one push on the button by the FR crew. Everybody will be out in a whim, and spend ages to find and sort out their lugagge, but not F...

Re: Replacement of SN's Avro RJ and B737 fleet
It seems replacement of the RJ85's is well under way. Same for the 733's and 734's. But I lost track of SN's future fleet plans. The short-haul fleet will have 15 A319's, 6 A320's, 12 RJ100's, and the wet-leased Q400's. I guess they will add some more A319's and A320's. Will they keep wet-leasing pl...

Re: Ryanair plans wider doors to speed up boarding
Isn't this the most hilarious airline? Just kidding, they only seem to come up with one idea after the other. Wider doors means less seat rows? Will the aisle get wider as well? Otherwise you're just moving the bottleneck up. In my personal experience with FR, boarding was not that terrible. But it'...

Re: BRU winter 2012-2013: latest news, routes, airlines
Hi, Seems they're starting it without tag-on to/from NBO, not something SN usually do! Surpised to see all the refquency reductions during winter though. I thought they we're going to expand, not reduce. Is this because of airline availability? Or do SN have another new destination up their sleeve? ...
