Re: Loud bang near Brussels, scramble ?
Loud bang near Brussels, scramble ? Nothing exploded on the ground, it seems. Communications with a passenger aircraft were lost, so F16s scrambled and had to fly through the sound barrier to get there as soon as possible. By the time the F16s reached the aircraft, communications were already resto...

Re: 2021 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
I guess the neighbourhood won't be too happy with this massive expansion! But this design definately rules out a future third runway! Why would they need a third runway when they only use one ? Maybe so they can use two parrallel runways at the same time. Might be necessary if they expand as much a...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Hi all,
Does anyone know why this SN flight to Kiruna (KRN) made such strange turns above Kiruna Airport? They flew over the airport at least three times.

http://avherald.com/h?article=4dfbfe95&opt=0 150 knots GS... That is *very* high speed 😳 Indeed, it just turned out they were already rotating with the nose gear off the ground when the crew sensed difficulties and rejected takeoff. See: http://avherald.com/h?article=4dfbfe95 Indeed, and the in...

Brussels Airlines A319 OO-SSD is on its way to Lourdes Tarbes, very likely for storage. The aircraft also made a test flight this morning, prior to being sent to Lourdes.

Or some of the B787's Lufthansa ordered? I can't imagine that they would just let go of their long-haul activities.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Just to know, what is the maximal range of the A321XLR with a full load, to know what are the possibilities the this type of aircraft? Airbus states 8700km meaning this aircraft can reach cities like Mexico, Bogota, Caracas, Bangkok, etc from Brussels. At full capacity, the XLR will be able to fly ...

Belgian Army Equipment
Hi all,
The Belgian army has different types of helikopters. I am wondering which helikopters are part of the Navy, and which are part of the Air Force. I believe that some of the NH90's and all the Alouette III helikopters are part of the Navy. Can someone confirm that?

No doubt The Ombudsman Service of Brussels Airport is usually a reliable source, but this time they got their information wrong unfortunately. Sometimes in the heat of the moment things get lost in communication/translation, perhaps that's what happened here. They surely didn't get that information...

https://i.imgur.com/1SqahT9.jpg This very ironic picture - and IMHO a picture that should be part of "BRU's year 2020 in review" - is Swiss' flight from ZRH today, greeted by Aviapartner, and immediately whisked to the farthest remote stand possible in BRU, even with several unoccupied ga...

Re: Airline bankruptcies, ceased operations, restructurations
Question... Is German Airways still active then ? LGW stands for Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter. It operated 15 Q400's for Eurowings. And LGW was merged into German Airways together with WDL Aviation. But apparently only LGW filed for bankruptcy. I guess the merger was not yet completed. Okay, didn't...

Re: Airbus A320 and A320neo news
Airbus is planning to develop a successor for the highly succesful A320 family. The first prototype could be revealed as soon as 2026, with deliveries starting in 2030. Also, Airbus wants to make aircraft that are powered by hydrogen fuel and are thus completely powered by clean energy. This should ...
