Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

Thx DIBO, Passenger, Andre, finally some reactions on the real issue: the poor management capability of VLM. No surprises here, if you announce flights at the same time as when you start flying them, if your website was not working for a long time, if you make hardly any promotion or advertising, if...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

To: DIBO I fully agree with your request to support TuiFly ANR operations and I appreciate your positive attitude. I am just wondering if all other E190 operators have the same issues, the aircraft looks quite successful and many prime carriers use it (KLM would never buy if it would be crap). It is...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

Bigger airlines do have a spare plane, and I am sure TuiFly has some solutions also, otherwise how can they organize additional charters to the WC in Russia. I am flying quite some (job-related) miles each year with Star Alliance and OneWorld, short-haul and long-haul, and whenever they have a techn...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

Again 200 dissatisfied customers... I hope that in Belgium we aim for better ops rates than Gibraltar. For example LCY should be a benchmark (shorter runway, higher minima, night closure). And what I propose: 1. Immediately move one of the E190 to ANR from BRU or OST and replace it there by with a w...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

To: passenger I fully agree with you. Customer should not be told ‘it is what it is’, this is typical Belgian behaviour, no eye for the Customer. When a person books on TuiFly, he/she should not be explained that flights cannot be guaranteed because of special crew training, or nightban (in Rotterda...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

Today OO-TEA is AOG in ANR, pax are transferred again by bus to BRU, OO-JVA now taken over some flights. From family/friends I hear more and more that ANR is very convenient and easy to fly from/to, but the frequent delays and or diversions through BRU are getting noticed and will finally lead to lo...

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

To: passenger 1. The article in the Gazet van Antwerpen on the growing airline industry and its impact on the environment, was written with the intention to harm the industry, it was not a ‘fait divers’ which ended on the desk of the journalist 2. The coverage of the 200 protesters is far more exten...

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

The fact is that: - we are close to municipal elections next October - Groen! is orchestrating this, trying to get more votes in the ‘battle’ for Antwerp - it is easier to tell some ‘lies’ to scare the neighborhood, than to tell the truth (moving threshold by 15m) - both ATV and Gazet van Antwerpen ...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

To poiu Does not matter FTD or FFS, my point is that they should give some of their 737 crew short-field training, that is what I wanted to emphasize. How to do that, I am sure there are many specialsts which can explain on this forum (no need to insult). To Desert Rat Thx for your explanation, very...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

No, that is not difficult on a fixed base sim. In fact you start on a sim and then finally you go to a short-field airport as co-pilot with the chief pilot as captain. And then you completed your training.

Nice video on simulator. Hopefully they will start giving some short-field performance training with this new state-of-the-art device.

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

Despite all the good news about deliveries of new aircraft, TuiFly Operations is clearly struggling when issues occur with its fleet. OO-JEB is already out-of-service for 3 days at ANR, and the only soluiion they can find, is putting the pax on a bus to BRU or OST. We had occassionally B737 flights ...

Re: 2018 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news

Maybe better to dismantle the pax terminal and re-construct it at ANR 😄
Yesterday they had arrivals of 2 TUI EMB190, 1 FlyBe and 1 VLM at the same time... with 1 baggage carousel..., the terminal is becoming too small already

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

FlyBe is launching these special tariffs for ALL destinations to/from Southend: Caen, Budapest, Dublin, Manchester, Groningen, Prague, Lyon, Cologne, ... So, they are not ‘desperate’ for Antwerp (I would hope that all on this forum would support all initiatives on regional airports). As for the actu...

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

1. Simple math: flying with 15 pax at 160€ each = 2.400€ or having 45 pax (feeder) at rockbottom 80€ per pax = 3.600€ with a very low-cost aircraft. Of course it would be better to get 45 pax at 160€, but the demand for point-to-point ANR-ZRH is not that strong. I wonder how many of the pax on the B...

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

Thx Avnu, then LX has adjusted its prices recently, because a few weeks ago a return trip was close to 500€ (if my source is correct). Obviously, this is not so good news for VLM, since they do not have the financial power of a Star-alliance partner with 5 flights/day from BRU with jet aircraft. May...

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

Wouldn’t it be much better that they first focus on getting sufficient yield/load factors on their existing flights to ZRH, BHX, MUC, before embarking on a (costly) start-up of another new route? LCY is doing well, but the other destinations should still improve (which is surprising, given for examp...

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Thanks FLYAIR10, at least one person on this topic who is not negative. Of course everybody is entitled to have an opinion, but please base it on facts: - TuiFly is having load factors upto 100% and are gradually expanding their offer (Firenze, Innsbruck) - VLM is reborn, load factors on LCY are gro...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Again so many negative comments, and this happens every time a new initiative is announced on ANR. Recently VLM has been the focus of criticism and scepticism, now FlyBe. Fact is that we never had so many passengers on ANR and all TUIFLY fligths are FULL (people complaning that they need to go to Ei...
