Re: Estonian Air bankrupt - Replaced by Nordica

Nordica is mulling buying out the stake held by LOT in their joint carrier, Regional Jet (Estonia), as Nordica does believe LOT will be in it for the long-run due to changing market conditions. However, the buyout would not necessarily be the end of their collaboration. Nordica is underperforming, ...

Given Wow Air is to be purchased by Iceland Air, how likely is it both airlines will continue to serve BRU in future? Icelandair said that in a first step it would keep the two airlines independent. Draw your own conclusions :) This first step will most likely include an optimization of the network...

The Diabolo surcharge on train tickets has been made compulsary by the European Commission. Otherwise, it would be illegal state aid - illegal competition towards other airports. Thanks, that is new to me. Not really a surprise, though. Does this also imply the level of the surcharge? As the curren...

Re: Primera Air to launch three U.S. routes from Brussels in 2019

I hope Primera's BRU-flights will be more successfull than their BHX-operations. They were short-lived: one summer season only. Let's hope their 737's will be delivered in time to start with and Primera can make it through the end of the season at Brussels. Given Primera's product offer, frequencies...

The picture looks different when we compare seat capacity:
  • airBaltic's CS300 have 145 seats * 3 = 435 seats a week (one-way)
  • LOT/Nordica's CRJ900 have 88 seats * 10 = 880 seats a week (one-way)
So the 3 BT-flights account for 50% of LO's seat capacity
