I think the reason why they don't go for the 767-300 is cargo. An A330-300 can take much more cargo in the belly than a 767-300.
Cargo has always been important on the flights to Africa.

First 777-200 to be dismantled/scrapped

The Dutch site Luchtvaartnieuws, quoting Flight International, reports that an ex BA 777-200 (number 19 off the line, ex-BA, ex-Khalifa and ex-Varig) was bought by Universal Assett Management from Memphis, to dismantle the aircraft. Quite soon for an aircraft biult in 1995. Is there really no market...

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have an idea when the first Avro's will go to the paint shop (I suppose the three 'white' ones with the special summer scheme will be repainted soon?)?

Re: Virgin BN livery

Bearing in mind, that the new Brussels Airlines colour scheme is mainly white, they can spray them in two phases The white in the new colorscheme is not so predominant (only the upper half of the fuselage). This is a pity, as the aircraft would have looked much more attractive with a completely blu...

Swiss' first "new" A330 is ex-Sabena : how ironic

Just read on their website that SWISS is adding two more A330-200's to their fleet, the first expansion of their fleet since their new start. How ironic is it to see that one of them (HB-IQQ) is the former OO-SFT of Sabena (I don't know about the other one)... This aircraft should now be flying in t...

After seeing pictures of OO-SSG in "real" flight and in full daylight (unfortunately not yet in real lifte), I must admit the new colorscheme is growing on me. The blue is indeed darker than SN's (and classier), the light blue is more grey and less purple than SN's (or are these impression...

Is it that difficult to find a used A330-300?
Last summer, the Portugese carrier Hifly (ex AirLuxor) returned a A330-300 to the lessor, so this one could be used?

It took me 3 times to understand the full meaning of the commercial. I think it's original, but quite "on the limit". Also, if the VEX plane is the "mother", then there is a part somewhere in the middle of the clip that I don't understand with the "flow" (of what??) fro...

I agree that the dark blue and the light blue don't fit together that well..
They should have painted the engines in dark blue, which would have given a better effect.

EBKT (Kortrijk) 07/10/2006 : Jetairfly 737

On Saturday October 7, a Jetairfly 737 will be landing at EBKT in the morning. The aircraft is expected to take off from EBKT at 8.30am local, bound for Jersey. An exceptional opportunity to spot a 737 from really close by. Spotters and photographers, be there (hopefully the wheather will be nice, a...

I think you can be pretty sure to have a window, as the windowless seats on a 737-300 are around row 7-8 in the 737-300, and around row 12-15 on a 737-400. Row 23 on a 737-300 is towards the end of the plane, and all rows have windows over there... By the way, I have never undestood why Boeing needs...

In July 1999, I flew BRU-AMS-LAX and back with KLM on a 747-400 both ways. Flight AMS-LAX lasted about 11 hours, return flight was about 10 hours. It all depends on the winds and the route flown. I remember the pilot telling us on the AMS-LAX flight that we were following an exceptionally northern t...

Maybe a little off topic, but I compared the prices for a Brussels-Valencia return flight for me, my wife and my children end of July. When I flew OO-TUC in February 2005 (Brussels-Varadero and Varadero-Cancun-Brussels), it just had an old-fashioned big screen in front of the cabin (Comfort Class), with a beamer. Just a movie was shown; there was no moving map, no flight info on the screens. No small screens popping down from the c...
