I wonder how B777 compete against A350 and how Boeing will revamp B777. Airlines rejected the ealier versions of A350 which was an upgraded A330, will they reject the upgraded B777 in favor a whole new designed A350? Thanks! CP Depends on how they'll revamp the 777... a composite replacement or new...

This is interesting. If Airbus beats Boeing in winning Emirates order of 100 planes, that could be a huge success for A350 and may open for more orders to come.

Let's not exacerate the situation, shall we? Airbus may have some product problems, and in market share the situation may look problematic, but in real numbers they are still going much stronger than Boeing a few years back, simply because they keep selling planes in faboulously large numbers. Last...

The A330 is certainly more capable than the Boeing 767, although more costly. It is also less capable than the B777, but at a cost much less than the 777 - it might have found a sweet spot. I'll bet that Boeing is looking at a 787 freighter and if they go to two assembly lines (and can get the asse...

How can the 787 be on time, when it is Boeing's second answer to airbus A332, the first one the miserably failed 767-4ER? The 787 might be on schedule, but it is running late by almost half a decade really.... If Boeing had had launch aids, sure they would have developed something to compete with A...

Well i guess those who needs A340 replacements by then will favour Airbus, it saves them quite a bit to operate Airbuses than going to Boeing... and i haven't heard Boeing talking about 'commanlity' of the 787 with other Boeing aircrafts, something that Airbus does very well. But it must be agreed ...

A possible cancel of A380 order

After Fedex maybe Thai Airways will be the next customer to cancel its order of A380s. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6157498.stm Maybe they just want to put some pressure on Airbus, why do they want to cancel while they can lease some planes to fullfil their plan and wait for A380 coming? They...

The program will cost 12 bln; I wonder how Airbus will raise the fund for A350. I guess the Euro governments will offer launch aid which will be bad for Boeing since Airbus will develope a great plane and offer good discount to customers. When Airbus first decided to revamp A330 I kept thinking it w...

RC20, I sympathize with your sentiments, but USA is a part of the free trade agreement. Unfortunately if import duties were levied on the foreign content of the 787, the only victims would be the US customers, as any duty imposed would be refunded once the aircraft went to an offshore carrier. To b...

Replacement of B737 may come soon?

I am guessing that Boeing will launch the replacement B737 soon after they successfully produce B787, and make sure B787 program works as designed which takes about... 2 years? Remember the success of B787 is crucial for the development of the replacement of B737. And I think Boeing won't waste time...

How will Boeing repsond to A350XWB?

Any one here has any idea how Boeing will respond to A350XWB? It seems new revamped A350 will certainly be B777-200 killer, and maybe B777-300 killer too.

Thanks

Good news for Airbus

What about SIA's order of 40 B787s they intended a few months ago? Did SIA kill that order? Does it mean Airbus has already had firm specifications for A350 XWB? It was said they did not have firm specs at the show but it seems they do have now.

Good news for Airbus.

Why don't they wait for A350 specifications which will be announced this summer? Airbus seems to run out of time as airlines cannot wait for the new A350? http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000080&sid=al8VKtVwNPr4&refer=asia It will be interesting to see the all new A350 matched up aga...

Compete on price

I think A350 is more expensive than B787, and without the launch aid they can not give large discount to customers to compete on prices as they did before. 150 A350's have been sold, it is not bad isn't it? When B767 was lost to A330, Boeing could still survive. I think Airbus should build A350 and ...
