Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines

Lufthansa is going to take over the flights from Star Alliance member LATAM between Muc and Sao Paulo. This is really bad luck for BRU again as a pax flight between BRU and Sao Paulo is now very unlikely as LH will not allow LATAM to fly to BRU now with pax The reason for this is much more simple t...

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures

The number of pax, in %, during March was again the highest one for Brussels Airlines for the whole LH Group. SN saw in increase of more then 15%!!!!!! while Eurowings had a drop of more then 2% For the whole LH group was only an increase of 1%. Good job SN, even they want to kill this brand and com...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines

Well, there is a rationale behind it from their perspective. But trying to send everyone to MUC or FRA (horrible place), is not going to work though. Sending people from BRU, ARN or CPH to MUC, to send them all to GRU means they have to make a certain detour (time and money wise less interesting). ...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Staff shortage again and again? How the hell is skeyes managing its staff? Their HR manager should be fired on the spot! Although I have no special sympathy for Happart and Partoune, they are absolutely right: Liege Airport is sabotaged. They should start a suit against skeyes. Why only Liege Airpo...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines

LH sees SN and BRU as a big obstacle. They best way for them was to take over SN. So one trouble less. With BRU they play it on the way to take as much as they can Star flights to their own airports in Germany. Well, there is a rationale behind it from their perspective. But trying to send everyone...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines

How can LH take over flights from the competition?? gtz paul LATAM left the German market bcs too much competition. But that was only nice written on paper to give a reason why to stop. In a very short period after, LH start exactly a route to Sao Paulo with exactly three flights a week and even wi...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines

LOT is filling the gap left a few years ago by Malev between BUD BRU vv. But their flights overlap/duplicate to some extent those offered by SN. I don't really see the point, but perhaps I'm missing something. Ironically, some of the SN flights will be operated with Czech Airlines metal :? Dear Ans...

Re: BRU: Building 4 collapsed

Building 4 is the new building which will be used for the administration departments of Brussels Airport. This is a former building next to the Skyhall. You cannot see this building from the landside as it is located at the airside. This is one of the last parts from that side which are completely r...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Indeed nothing is to be expected from LH. the Chinese tourists will keep on coming to Europe, there is certainly room for more connections to other "less known" cities (Chengdu, Tianjin, Guanghzou, Xiamen, Qingdao...); all have bigger population than Paris, Berlin... We had in the past China Easter...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance and Oneworld under one roof?

Very ambitious projects for once! Let's hope some of them materialize in the near future. The whole Vision 2040 is very ambitious I would say. Finally an airport management who has the guts to reveal great plans for the future, with more terminals, piers, longer runways, more pax, etc etc They had ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

A few years ago there was a rumour on this forum that the station would be expanded to 10 (!) platforms... Don't know what happened... That is indeed still the case. A huge expansion of the train station under the airport and this indeed with 10 platforms. But it will be in phases of course. This a...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

TGV/ Eurostar connections easy to realize from BRU. Perhaps not so easy as implied: with its measly three platforms, the railway station is close to maximum capacity. It must be said, though, that this is at least partly due to its use as a terminal station: some trains occupy the platforms much lo...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Hi JOVAN, thank you for your nice add. LH, CS, said even in own words that they don't want BRU to grow further bcs it's a rival in their backyard. If OW would want to grow at BRU, maybe with BRU acting as a reliever hub for LHR with BA starting an hourly shuttle service between BRU and LHR, update ...

Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?

Maybe not in the right topic but still about the future of BRU. Maybe it is a time to caress more and to tight the bound with OneWorld at Brussels Airport. As we know since the acquisition of SN by LH, it is horribly quiet around Star Alliance and their expansion. Brussels Airport is the 5th biggest...

Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news

As announced already earlier I think, Sichuan Airlines Cargo will start cargo flights to Brussels Airport as from the end of April with 3 flights a week with the new A330F. In 2020 they will increase the number of flights to 6 a week. While we see a decrease in integrator, e.g. DHL, because the volu...
