Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

JNB or CPT is a little overly optimistic. For growth to Africa I'd rather look to upgrading current destinations and maybe reinstall former, terminated destinations. Althought CPT is high on my personal wishlist... I doubt it... to much low yield VFR... It's probably better for the hub to go deeper...

Also don’t forget that the EW long haul by SN is a form of money transfer from one unit to another within the same company. If that transfer r stops the results in Brussels will be worse.
It all depends on the transfer price...

Re: Question on Airplane Boarding

Because it generally doesn't work. I remember my flight from LHR to JNB last year, was on an A380. 'NOW BOARDING PASSENGERS IN SECTION 4' The hoard assembled and went to the gate, 305 people for economy pushing to get in asap. ( thrust me, this took a while for an A380 which was full ) Same with my...

But not everybody made it home... https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2019/06/17/helikopter-maakt-noodlanding-in-kasterlee/ A Royal Air Force helicopter had to make an emergency landing in a field in Kasterlee (near Turnhout) yesterday after suffering engine trouble. Re: Question on Airplane Boarding

Or, improve the unloading and sorting of the bags so that they're on the belt within 20min... I think less people would mind that their trolleys are taken away so would board later. On the other hand, on long haul there's normally more than enough overhead bin space and even then they stand in line ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

Just to put everything in perspective 9% of the workers are coming from Wallonia 14% from Brussels 77% from Flanders for me you can divide the hassle in the same proportion and the problem will be resolved! Anyway that was always my feeling it's not our national airport it's the Flanders Internatio...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I've spent the wekend in Düsseldorf and gave it a thought. 1. It's not about the money, it's about a hub or not. Düsseldorf is the second richest large city in Germany, after Frankfurt and is EW's largest base. When Lufthansa took over SN, BRU wasn't a real hub... FRA, MUC, ZRH and VIE were / are re...

The arrival procedure for 07L is an offset VOR/DME, with a last visual part. This is not available after sunset (07L has no approach lights). ... That is why after sunset RWY 07R is used with a straight in VOR/DME. And with a loss in capacity due to bad exit TWYs. How much does an ILS and landing l...
