Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Luchtvaartnieuws.nl mentions that 3 A330-200s will leave the KLM fleet in 2015 (end of lease).
Will those become available on the market?
If so, maybe they could be a good addition to Brussels Airlines' fleet?
Best regards,

Re: 4 MAY 2014 : Magma 747 incident in BRU

This makes me feel nostalgic, and reminds me of the time I lived in Schaarbeek between 1991 and 1996, when 2 or 3 times a week, the Sabena 747 took off a few minutes before midnight on its way to Afrika (Kinshasa - Johannesburg?), and often overflew my appartment. It did make noise, but nobody compl...

Re: Emirates to Brussels?

If the market analysis of Emirates about the potential of the Brussels-Dubai route is correct (and why would it not be?), then it's a missed opportunity for Brussels Airlines. Instead of launching a questionable Washington service, they should have focused on Dubai. Or did a code share agreement wit...

Re: Brussels Airlines A319s

Even when you have an A319 with the screens, it's not always guaranteed they will be used. I've been on a few flights in an A319 where the flgithmap was not used on during the flight... Maybe the system was inop those days. Hope you'll have them, as it is indeed a whole different flight exeperience....

Re: Jetairfly in 2014

Why is an older 737-800 (OO-JBV) replaced by a new 737-800 (OO-JEF)? I assume the new one has the new interior, and will probably more comfortable for the passengers, but the lease rate of the new one must be a lot higher than the older one? Do the lower maintenance costs offset this? OO-JBV is now ...

Re: A first big problem (and delay) for the JAF 787 OO-JDL ?

I'm surprised that it takes about 48 hours to repair an antenna/transponder failure. Like others have said here, Cancun is just a few hours flying time from the US. I understand that Jetairfly doesn't have a whole stock of parts at every station they fly to, but this delay does seem quite long. Abou...

Re: The Jetairfly Boeing 787

Several media report OO-JDL is stuck in Cancun since last Friday with an antenna problem. Return flight should be tonight, arrival tomorrow morning, so a delay of two days for 250 passengers. Why does it take two days to find a replacement part? News about this is spread and hidden in different topi...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014

It's an antenna problem - arrival in Brussels is now foreseen for Monday morning says Jetairfly. source: Flemish state television VRT: http://www.deredactie.be/cm/vrtnieuws/binnenland/1.1857795 This was about to happen, and will happen again. Using only one aircraft for such a tight schedule, witho...

@ Flanker and Inquirer
Please guys, I mostly love to read your analyses...
But this discussion is heading way off topic...
I guess nobody is interested in your mutual verbal attacks...
Can this topic be closed, or at least be brought back on track?

Re: The Jetairfly Boeing 787

PUJ was always scheduled on JAP! Awaiting spares.. Not according to the Airline Route schedule, nor the timetable mentioned on the Jetairfly website... I think OO-JDL was scheduled to fly this flight. What went wrong? Anyway, even the 5 day schedule leaves very little time on Saturday and Sunday mo...

Re: The Jetairfly Boeing 787

If the timetable of the international flights of JDL, as mentioned earlier in this thread, is correct, then we can expect a lot of delays, cancellations and replacements. Those flights are too much and too tightly planned just for one plane to operate, the slightest problem will lead to long delays....

Re: The Jetairfly Boeing 787

I notice on FR24 that OO-JDL almost immediately climbs to FL43, and stays there for quite a part of the cruise. I guess flying on a higher level reduces fuel consumption, and resduces congestion on lower flight levels. Most aircraft however cruise at maximum FL 37 or FL 39 . Is the high cruise going...

This topic is about which exact aircraft (if ever..) will join the Brussels Airlines fleet, not about the need for Brussels Airlines to expand or not, or where this should happen.

Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?

Suppose the 3 ex-Kingfisher A330's are still available for lease, I don't see why Brussels Airlines wouldn't try to lease them. Given the fact that other companies threaten the very lucrative African market (Turkish, KLM,...), these planes could very well be used to provide daily schedules to e.g. L...
