Non audited results for the first half of this year show SN booked an operational profit of 18,2 million euro, which translated to a net profit of 11,2 million euro. (For info: SN booked a positive net result of 1,9 million euro during the first half of last year.) Traditionally, the second half of ...

Don't be blinded by the load on a First Flight! Obviously a first flight will have a decent load, if alone because many persons from within the airline as well as from outside are invited to come along and get to know the new destination... The real success can be measured on th following flights. A...

Before the "Hotelakoord", SN had a contract where was clearly stated that the suisse would raise their stake in SN whenever it was possible (EU regulations). Wasn't that a better agreement then "the hotelakoord"? I mean why would they give that up? Swissair made it clear during summer 2001 they did...

Re: SABENA 4 jaar later - DE ZEVENDE DAG - TV1

considering the sums of money in this matter, I consider it somewhere close to neglect on behalf of the Belgian government. The neglect of the Belgian government for what was going on at Sabena did clearly show in the years before the hotel agreement, when all decisions at Sabena were taken by the ...

Re: SABENA 4 jaar later - DE ZEVENDE DAG - TV1

I wonder what Verhofstadt and Vande Lanotte got in return from the Swiss in the famous 'hotel agreement'. I can hardly imagine that it was just 'one way giving' towards the Swiss. I'm still an angry 'ex-Sabenien' and I wish to all my former collegues and Belgian citizens that we will know the compl...

SN will also serve following destinations on a regular basis during the summer months:

Bari (same as last year)
Cork (dito)
Lourdes (NEW)
Genoa (NEW)

Jersey however will NOT be continued....

Also, the flights to Toulon, until now operated by VEX, will be flown by SN on an ARJ.

Indeed blackhawk. After a thorough analysis of all possibilities (E170, A318, B717, RJ), it was clear the cheapest solution would be to keep the Avro RJs (thanks to their increadibly low leasing rates) and the leasing contracts on the 5 oldest RJ85s have since been prolongued by another 5 years, wit...

What are the bilaterals governing flights between Belgium and the D.R. Congo? The bilateral between Belgium and DR Congo is very simple: basically it allows what we see now! Each country may designate ONE home carrier to operate scheduled pax and cargo services. The Belgian designated airline (thus...

Don't get too exited, guys, I can assure all of you no SN flights to FRA are scheduled for the winter season... The demand for slots seems to be for future better slot allocation purposes only in case SN would want to fly to FRA again one day.... or -which is even more likely- for speculative reason...

Thanks for that info, Airbus330lover- Here's an interior shot of this machine, now operated by Air Luxor: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/713691/M/ One can clearly see it still has the old Sabena cabin fittings and would thus be perfect for short term lease by SN. Also, it seems Air Luxor has lea...

Atlantis the news about the 4th A330 was at the time of me talking about it NO RUMOUR, heck even our CEO Peter Davies talked about it on the focus meetings with me personally! Now things have changed and the idea of another A330 is off the table. Now I ask you, has SNBA actually denied SN Airholding...

tolipanebas, I agree with what you say but first you say no A330 soon and then probable A330 or even a 767 leased? we'll see i guess. Sorry should have been more clear.... What I mean is NO more PERMANENT 4th A330 for the time being but a SHORT time lease only of a plane to REPLACE the SN A330s whe...

I received an e-mail from SNBA. All the rumours about the new A330 are NOT TRUE, even the date 2007 is not true. H About 2 months ago, there has been an internal staff memo saying SN Air Holding had decided in principle to add a 4th A330 and had given green light to start looking for such a plane (...

Re: What future for SN Brussels Airlines (and Virgin Express

How can somebody from BIAC be a board member of SNBA. Isn't this a mix of interests? I believe that in a competitive kind of view this is not fair for other companys! Didn't you know BIAC is an important shareholder of SN Airholding, thus co-owwer of both SN and VEX? No mixing of interests whatsoev...

I think Nimes is just a bit too close to Mairseille to be considered since the last thing SN wants to do is to undercut its own business route to MRS. Montpelier would already be slightly better, and as a coastal town, always has a plus. What about Perpignan? As the last sea side reasort before the ...

Indeed no more Jersey next year. It was a strange idea from the start and even the people from 'network' at SN admitted it was a big gamble. If VLM couldn't fill a F-50 on this route only a few years ago, then how could SN possibly think to do much better? Anyhow, with only 2 weekly flights and some...

Buzz, that 'thing' off the B pier is in fact looking very much like a huge white marque and serves as a kind of waiting room for passengers who's plane is on remote stand and need to be bussed to their flight.
