Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

When VLM Airlines became independent last year they had to find a new market for them to survive. They decided they wanted to have VLM branded flights again as they used to have in the past. VLM still has a very good reputation, a reputation Cityjet never had. This was a bad decision by Air France t...

Re: 2015 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Jetairfly seems to have created two gaps in the schedule on Monday and Saturday during the winter season 2015/16. On Monday airplane on ground in ANR from 1225 until 1705 and on Saturday from 1220 until 1650. This creates room for an extra flight/destination at about 1:20 block time. These gaps wher...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

CAA statistics claim 34 pax to ANR and 175 to HAM, so 209 total. Leading to an average of 6,15 pax on every flight (17 return trips in May), or 12,3% loadfactor. Yes this is low, but only VLM knows the forward bookings. They did not see any potential in Liege, it is up to them to decide about this r...

It would be very bad news if BA takes over VLM, because the only reason for a take over are the slots at London City. BA isn’t interested in the operations of VLM. BA has no choice because Scot Airways chose for the Cityjet/Air France story. Look at the past: BA has never been successful in their re...

There could be a market for flights from Antwerp, because there are lots of business people over here. The real problem is the short runway - only 1510m - this makes it hard for operations in all weather. Unfortunately the Flemish government did not invest in SN after the bankruptcy of Sabena and th...
