Re: BRU Winter 2019-2020: news, new routes, airlines

Brussels Airlines will operate 5 flights a week to Kigali, instead of 6 (during the last IATA Winter season), from 28 October 2019 to 28 March 2020. The 6 weekly service will be back, from 31 March 2020. I don't think it's related with the arrival of Egyptair, in Rwanda, in April 2019, which now se...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2019

Well I thought that they somehow resolved this by getting all the white planes from Smartlynx etc. Don't think so. I just received a notification that my flight to Palermo at the...

Re: Sunday 7 October 2018: visit Belgocontrol during the 2018 Open Bedrijvendag / Journée Découverte Entreprises

Someone any idea whether you can take a camera with you (take pictures) and how long the visit is? Thanks in advance :) I was there last year, and it is indeed allowed to take pictures in the control tower (the training floor indeed). And I can confirm that those 10 minutes lasted like it was 1 min...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Just one question: Was the Mumbai route making money or losing money? If it was profitable, there was absolutely no reason to axe the route. If the route was loss making, then Herr Spohr might have found a good reason to take it away from SN, given his focus on profits...

Re: Boeing 747-8 news

Boeing received a US$3.9 billion contract to build two B747-8s for use as Air Force One by the US president, due to be delivered by December 2024. I might be wrong, but wasn't it the plan to modify two 747-8s that are already built (for Transaero I think) but that are now gathering dust and sand so...

Re: Boeing 787 news

The FAA has limited the ETOPS flights of a number of 787 aircraft. In particular, it restricts the planes from operating more than 140 minutes from a diversionary airport, down from 330 minutes currently. It concerns aircraft equipped with the Trent 1000 “package C” engines. It was found that durabi...
