Re: Boeing 747-8 news

Boeing received a US$3.9 billion contract to build two B747-8s for use as Air Force One by the US president, due to be delivered by December 2024. I might be wrong, but wasn't it the plan to modify two 747-8s that are already built (for Transaero I think) but that are now gathering dust and sand so...

Re: Boeing 787 news

The FAA has limited the ETOPS flights of a number of 787 aircraft. In particular, it restricts the planes from operating more than 140 minutes from a diversionary airport, down from 330 minutes currently. It concerns aircraft equipped with the Trent 1000 “package C” engines. It was found that durabi...

Who would have thought that: another order for the 747-8. UPS buys 14 additional 747-8Fs, thereby doubling their 2016 order for the 747-8F:

FR24 mentions an A320, but Austrian media say it's an A321, and their picture shows an A321. Who is right?
If that picture is correct, it's even an A330.

I returned from SPU with TUI fly early June with 36 hours delay and got only 125 EUR compensation. What 6 hours difference can do. These are lucky people. It's not really the number of hours of the delay that is important, but rather the distance that is an important factor if I'm correct. I got 40...
