Re: Brussels Airlines introduces one-way fares at 39 euro

If you buy a 39€ Ticket you will earn 30 loops at best. The value of 30 loops is 0,30€. So you will need at least 130 flights to have a free 39€ ticket, if taxes are the same for free flights, which is not the case for M&M. On M&M tickets taxes are around 100€ for a short haul flight. You can pay 13...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces one-way fares at 39 euro

Does anybody know if you earn loops on these one way tickets too? Yes, Loops can be collected on these flights as well. Irrelevant isn't it? Basic fare will be 1 or 5€ plus taxes and fuel surcharge (pun intended), so you will earn 3 to 15 loops. You will need 200 flights before having a free one an...

Re: Brussels Airlines a Flemish company?

My gosh does it really matter? It's just again a politician wanting to cause a stir . As far as I'm concerned the Belgian flag still prides on the planes and everyone speaks 3 or more languages which of course include French AND Dutch ;) Exactly! The only reason why the majority of cabin crew is Fl...

yesterday: ... according to the law ALL aircrew pay social security in the country where they are based... today: With the high turn over at FR and also the fact that any small change to a contract makes that the NEW rules are in force my ducated guess is that 5% of the crew is still on "old contra...

Re: Interview of CEO Gustin: Brussels Airlines renamed Eurowings? ...and other topics

All NEW based crew do that indeed. But crew that got based before the regulations changed are still payed 'abroad'. As Ryanair has a lot of bases this will give them a huge advantage for as long as those old contracts are allowed. You seem to forget that for 10 years SN has been exempted from payin...

I think that is an excellent result... This year profits will be larger..
This means that without historic low oil prices and a soft winter the result would have been dark red.
Worrying to say the least!

Re: Interview of CEO Gustin: Brussels Airlines renamed Eurowings? ...and other topics

EW is about one thing only: cost reduction. When Lufty takes over Belgian management will be axed, you can see Mr Sciot is worried about his own job. The Germans know there are not many jobs on the Belgian market, so they will offer the same jobs at lower T and Cs at Eurowings. As Flanker says, any ...

Re: Interview of CEO Gustin: Brussels Airlines renamed Eurowings? ...and other topics

I dont, because I am not running this airlines, but I see your point, although I think its wrong. Last time they claimed about 100 direct jobs for a single intercontinental route!. Don't be to sure about that. LH is already sending German pilots to fill SN seats. A logical descision, as they have a...

Re: Ryanair in 2016

The lower fuel price is only 5% of the 1 billion EUR profit (projected). But it could have been much more! MOL himself told at the latest Brussels press conference that the price at which fuel was hedged has been significantly above the market price for the last two years and the current year, beca...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2014-2015

It sounds like common sense actually. It's quite rare these days for an airline to still own ALL of their planes - which they did - so it's much more in line with how other airlines operate. In a way, it would be foolish not to. Not really. 25-28 year old F50's are not worth that much. They were pa...

The value of one loop is 0,01€, according to the website.
Strange because they also mention 2000 loops (20€) equals a FREE return to Malaga...
Another detail: I have the impression loops are only credit after all segments of a booking have been flown.

Re: Easyjet in 2016

I did about 40 flights with easyJet this year, on the inbound 80% departed early or on time, 90% arrived in Bru ahead of schedule. 80% of the outbound flights left late. When you ask the crew for the reason of the delay, they say they don't know, but that it often happens in Bru and that the company...

Re: BRU Summer 2016: news, new routes, airlines

Yes it slowly solve the problem of the cancellation, one A330 does''t mean 7 weekly flight, for example this new A330 will 5 Toronto and 1 Kigali-entebbe so it mean that it will be a spare aircraft one day per week. When the 10th A330 will come, if SN open lagos-libreville or Mumbai 4 flight per we...

Re: Easyjet in 2016

EasyJet is not happy with the handling in Brussels. Aircraft often arrive early, but almost always leave late. These delays put pressure on the network and are translated into a cost. Furthermore easyJet wants to expand, but is short of aircraft. Choices have to made and the result is that several r...

Grant more traffic rights to the ME3? That's the last thing to do. OK, it would (maybe) compensate the departure of Jet Airways, but in favour of companies having low costs and high subsidies which will compete with European companies playing the game according to the rules. The Belgian Govt and Br...
