Re: Ryanair in 2016

Impressive result indeed!
Interesting to read that they already hedged 44% of their 2018 fuel at 50§. This will give them a huge advantage over those wo can't afford to hedge in the upcoming price war.

Rumours are that the Aircraft Conditioning Monitoring System has sent some serious ECAM warnings during the last three minutes before the aircraft disappeared from radar: 00:26 Smoke Lavatory Smoke 00:27 Avionics Smoke 00:29 Auto Flight FCU 2 Fault 00:29 Flight Control SEC 3 Fault If this were true...

Re: BREAKING: Two Air France aircraft clip each other at CDG

Since it seems the damage was only material, excuse me for entering the lighter register: May we trust all cockpit crew had their ELP* ok? *ELP: English Language Proficiency. A cockpit crew requirement introduced after an incident at the same airport where a (near?) collision was caused by not all ...

Inquirer please....  I was only trying to say you can't judge the airline by the terminal they use, nor can you judge a terminal by the airlines which are using them, just like you can't judge a person by the clothes he wears or the car he drives. (I do have a university degree and you ...

Not remotely the same??? Exactly the same you mean: T123 are just different entry points to a common gate area A,B,C,D,E,F. T1, 2 and 3 have their own check in area, lounges, passenger facilities and security screening: the boarding areas of the 3 terminals are interconnected at the air side, so yo...

Re: Norwegian in 2016

I am with Flanker, Norwegian will be one of the first victims of the next hick up in aviation (fuel price, economic downturn, war,...) A massive overcapacity storm is building up in aviation, this will lead to a fare war. Norwegian with his massive debts and a huge order of aircraft with no money to...

FWIW, ryanair are using terminal 1 in MAD; LH, AF,KL and SN are using terminal 2: it's not remotely the same infrastructure, although both are interconnected. Not remotely the same??? Re: BRU infrastructure: future

Most of the airports you mention have different security points, frequent travellers can easily avoid most of the walking. The connector is no improvement at all, it is a shopping mall, which before 22/03 was doomed to fail, the shops were always empty. Now that passengers arrive early you see some ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

2. Airports abroad generally ask to be there 2 hrs in advance. If you add the time from BRU to those airports, you reach easily 3 hrs, and you spend a lot on fuel or on train tickets.. You have to calculate the travel time from home to the airport, not from BRU. Ghent BRU is one hour, Ghent-CDG 2h1...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

We also heard stories of people only needed 1h to get through. My wife neede 1,5h on a sunday evening. Far away from 3h needed. When we were having a coffee at Starbucks, your wife told me it took her 1.5 hour to Starbucks. So to the end of the A pier plus being at the gate at -30 would make 2h15 i...

Re: Lufthansa to decide on 27 April whether to take over all of Brussels Airlines

Lufthansa will not take over Brussels Airlines. Lufthansa will take over SN Airholding nv/sa (= owner of Brussels Airlines nv/sa). The take over amount (some say 100 mio, others say 150 mio) will thus not be injected into Brussels Airlines. The only beneficiars are the shareholders of SN Airholding...

Hi, Hope that LH is reading this and will be warned about our opinions. CXB I don't think Lufti will be impressed by your warning. Nostalgia and sentiment have no much value in today's hard world of aviation business. European aviation is consolidating, last year's fuel price gave a little bit of o...
