This are the winter destinations JAF will offer out of Antwerp.

Does anyone know how FlyVLM is doing financially?
Cause selling an airplane isn't something good if you aren't replacing it...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

I fly VLM and cityjet several times a year. And to be honnest their planes/Seats are a lot more comfortable than the high density configurations of jetairfly, Ryanair, easyJet,... Oh yeah and i'm 1m90 tall so that means the biggest part of travellers have plenty of space in the so called "Old" fokke...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

I think that there's an opportunity for a 3000 meter "runway 32" extending to the South-East of the airport. It's mostly fields down there, and perhaps it's already some backup plan (should Belgium split and Antwerp become the new capital of Vlaanderen) If (if!) Flanders becomes independent, Zavent...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

:) The city was, not the houses tho...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

Antwerp Airport is to close to the city to grow. I don't agree on that, it is indeed to close to grow big. But it's perfect to operate regional/european destinations with small to medium sized airplanes. As they do in London City Airport, they are the best example to prove that it's possible. :D Th...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

Beautyful expensive terminals without any PAX.... Great investments, don't you think? #Liege    Well, this terminal is under-used, but it's not exactly empty. Liège was the 3rd airport of the country for the last 10 years if i'm not mistaken. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/fr/...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

^^ Well, thanks to its investments Liège Airport is attracting more and more passenger airlines (like VLM). Liège is also a big cargo hub. There's no reason to laugh about them. They're doing great, Antwerp is not. I think Liege will always be a cargo airport, there is no room in Wallonia for a sec...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

Antwerp Airport should do something about its old and ugly infrastructure. It is such an unattractive airport. Seriously, does this look like the entrance of an airport!? https://www.google.be/maps/@51.188867,4.450869,3a,75y,104.26h,87.38t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sJp2YaQH4FSprshuPTh721Q!2e0 The differen...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

Hello, all Yes indeed it's a pity to hear that SSJ is delayed to Q3 2016 as in VLM all where awaiting the so much-spoken-about SSJ delivery in April/May, but somehow the feeling was that it was going to be delayed anyway. The last couple of weeks the news was 'in the air' that the deal would be off...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

VLM opens new routes in Waterford (Ireland). 4x a week to Birmingham and 12x a week to London Luton. When are they going to see the potential in Antwerp Airport instead of opening new routes in Luik, Rotterdam and Waterford? Liège in English is "Liege" and not Luik. ;) I know, It was my spell...

Re: VLM Airlines taken over by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

First of all they need a strong HQ! Afterwards they can start looking for new opportunities. Ryanair first made Dublin a success before going overseas. And please never compare Ryanair with VLM again. ;) haha

Re: Student Job (-18) airport/airline/aviation

To be honnest, the chance of finding a studentjob in this sector is pretty low! I'm 20 years old, student aeronautical engineering at the VUB in Brussels and I also study for pilot at the Ben Air Flight Academy in Antwerp. They just don't hire a lot of students, and if they do, they prefer more matu...
