Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

Looking to the VLM Airlines booking system on their website there are some modifications done. As of 15 April there are only two weekly flights (--3-5--) on route MBX-MUC bookable. However the other route, ANR-MBX is bookable as normal (12345--). This make no sense at all. Maybe they are implementi...

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

Numbers to and from UK airports are published by the Civil Aviation Authority and thus public. They're shown as total number of passengers per route (arrivals plus departures) but lucky for us, there's only one operator on the ANR-LCY route and only one aircraft type. So with that in mind: the lates...

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

I'm not sure where this idea comes from that VLM is much cheaper than Swiss to ZRH. I can fly LX next Wednesday return for 138 euro with a choice of flights including the first one out and last one in. And I can do so on most days. Or stay 1 night or more. Sure, it's hand luggage only at that price ...

Re: VLM Airlines Regional (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

We'll see whether the MAN flights ever materialize, but in the mean time all I can say is that this - taken from the MAN airport site - wouldn't be such a bad schedule. Seeing how it combines early morning and evening flight to ANR (mostly business travelers) with leisure flights to OST (Bruges real...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2018

The article says that the new investor will concentrate on A320 charter flights, like VLM was doing. But later also on A330 flights to Asia !!!! Instead of VLM or in addition to VLM, Air Belgium, Cathay, Hainan, etc.???? I very much read that part of the article as 'instead of VLM'. The use of the ...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017

You can find the flights in Travelgenio but operating airline is shown as Borajet and aircrafttype Embraer E190. Flightnumber: YB1200 & YB1205 I actually see a 'Fokker' aircraft for this route on Travel Genio. https://i.imgur.com/GvSedgV.jpg All the other weird mentions of (non-existing) airlines a...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

If VLM is the only candidate 'left' - and I have little doubt they are - then why do they now claim that no decision has been taken yet? I've always felt the whole 'there is a new carrier but we'll tell you the name next week' thing was about a delay in making these flights bookable. A delay that's ...

So hopefully more news tomorrow, Friday, as its the end of the week. ;)
If its VLM we might have to wait until the end of October for a pressconference.
Well, I can't imagine BA, Flybe, BMI Regional or Powdair would wait this long to put these flights on sale.

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Here's hoping that whoever runs the route can offer a decent booking engine and integration with GDS systems. That seems rather important for a business route.

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017

They can't. Within the EU any carrier of a member state can basically perform any flight within or between member states. That's how EasyJet and Ryanair happened :) Also, most rules concerning administration and safety are written on a European level these days as well. If that begs the question as ...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

I can't say for sure as I don't know... but to me that would make some sense. Timing is everything on that route and that's one area where a 'local' carrier has a certain advantage. Then again, that would mean that the future of the route is linked to the future of their F50 fleet :)

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Not sure if this was picked up anywhere, but I heard Marcel Buelens is optimistic about new flights to LCY being announced 'as early as next week'. Seems there are 4 candidates of which 2 are 'very credible' and 1 is 'preferred'.

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

According to press agency Belga, Antwerp Airport is talking with two airlines to ensure a 'seamless' continuation of the flights. The deadline for an announcement should be two weeks from now, September 15th. There's talk of a 40-50 seater which brings VLM back in the picture although Marcel Buelen...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

and what about Powdair? they will fly SIR LCY 2x/day so they could also do ANR LCY with Saab2000 Given how ambitious they are nowadays, they could well go for it. But I believe it's far from the best solution for ANR-based flyers. They're essentially a startup virtual airline selling tickets on Dar...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

I dont think the BMI aircraft are certified to land in LCY. You're probably right: the E135 itself IS certified but I can't imagine BMI having done the necessary paper work and training. VLM: i have no clue if they can still doing this with their slovanian AOC. Like Poiu said: it's not a problem no...
