Do you carry a protective body suit? Gloves and a mask alone are pretty useless.
Are you trained to take it off, as incorrect way of taking it off, is probably the main reason why healthworkers get infected?

Re: BRU Summer 2015: latest news, routes, airlines

it contains an interesting remark not made so far, about there being 3 routes operated by jetairfly amongst the new ones announced today. Is this a bit tit for tat, maybe?. Not at all. It are charter flights on behalf of Thomas Cook. All these flights were operated by TCAB this summer, it are no ne...

Re: SN aircraft intercepted by French Rafale last June

IF the FO was asleep, how did the fighter pilot wake them up? With hand signals??? Come on... So he was awake and was happy to fly into French airspace for 20 min, without contact with French ATC???? Come on.... Once again falling asleep is not a mistake nor a shame, it is a real problem of todays ...

Re: SN aircraft intercepted by French Rafale last June

And if that NEVER happens in European airspace, why is it that some companies have an SOP to call ATC if they haven't been called in 25 minutes? Seems strange to implement an SOP for something that will never happen Exactly because it never happens!! If you didn´t have contact for 25 min, you have,...

Re: SN aircraft intercepted by French Rafale last June

Conclusion: NO BIG DEAL INDEED. Erasmus- whilst I fully agree with you analysis, I can`t agree with your conclusion. This IS a fatigue related incident. The F/O must have been asleep too, as even if the F/O was expecting a B-Line callsign, he should have realised that there was no ATC contact for 2...

Re: Airbus to launch A321NEO-LR with 3900NM TATL range

Sorry to interrupt the party, but does someone knows if Airbus, by any chance, has a Sales Department? And if so: could it be possible, by any chance, that this Airbus Sales Department already has contacted Brussels Airlines about this new A321 version? Why should they contact SN who has never boug...

What we need is shorter duty times and not longer ones as voted by the EU recently.
Under these new rules standby and duty can last for up to 24 hours.

Re: SN aircraft intercepted by French Rafale last June

The real problem is fatigue! Pilots are working more and more these days, so fatigue related incidents like this one happen more and more. Even if he was confused about his callsign he should have heart the repeated calls on ATC frequency and 121.5. If you think you are SN 12345 and you hear ATC cal...

Re: AF-KLM to close Martinair and reposition Transavia

KLM's CEO Camiel Eurlings has enough of the strikes and other protests against his plans with Transavia: he quits (as per direct!). Quite the opposite in fact!!! He has been forced to leave. He lost his credibility with the employees a while ago and it seem the board followed the employees. http://...

Re: Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa

The fact that a second nurse got infected in the Western world confirms my fear that there might be, yet unknown ways of transmitting the disease. Commercial aviation employees are not trained for this and should not be exposed to it. I am all for an organised airbridge to help out, but am against s...

Re: Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa

The Spanish nurse who treated an Ebola victim in a Madrid clinic "tests positive" for virus in first infection outside Africa. This confirms what I wrote earlier: there might be, yet unknown, ways in which you can get infected. This nurse only had to take care about one patient and she wa...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective

The August figures are indeed excellent! With these figures and the state aid there is no longer an excuse to loose money though. It will be impossible to grow at this rate in the years to come and the employees are already amongst the worst paid in European aviation. Furthermore we have only seen t...

Re: Will EK (Emirates) come to BRU?

What I don't understand is why SN does not move all the employees to Ireland!!!! To escape the taxes here, like Ryanair. Off topic- it would not make any difference! A new European law came into force in 2012, airlines and their employees pay social security in the country in which the employees are...

Too many assumptions are taken for facts by people who are clearly not letting truth get in the way if a story which fits their biased vision. It's becoming routine on this forum, as if we have 2 camps, living in 2 different worlds. Exactly, those, like yourself, who think it is unsafe to fly minim...

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet

I recently heard in the hallway that the Avro will stay Beyond 2016. This is getting ridiculous! Is there any confirmation of that? It would make sense if growth is faster than the planned replacement. I don't mind the longer flight times on the slower AVROs, but I hate that bad smell (wet socks) i...

I've quite a few outstanding tickets on Brussels for the coming months and my travel agency confirmed me yesterday those in b.light entitle a seat in Light&relax, which I think is a good deal, especially for the b.light tickets, as I now get the option to take a flight earlier for free. : Just ...

Re: Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa

Then they could operate triangular flights exclusively between affected countries. But I guess it takes some time to organise this. Not really feasible, because the crew doesn't want to stay in those affected countries (which I can understand). That's the advantage RAM has: they can have the same c...
