Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Probably, but with the old galley and lavatory's, that did not meet the SN seatpitch requirement i guess, so it was put to the same standard as the other SN A320's prior to their conversion. The maintananceslot to replace and reconfigure the galley, lav's and seats was now anyway.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

SSS and SSX are about to be deliverd as well as the SNH (finally) Not quite correct... Yes, SSS is on schedule, and should arrive this month. SNH was delayed severely, but is now being converted to 180 pax, and should be delivered as soon as that is completed. Bur SSX was never scheduled to be deli...

Re: Another Boeing 777 engine fire on the runway: 27/06/2016 at Singapore

Normally an engine at idle would not ingest a person during an evacuation Oh yes it will... Especially a big one like this... Not for all exits though, but I would not like to use door 2 if the engine is running... Door 3 and 4, slides might be blown away... But off coarse, if the situation is dire...

Re: Another Boeing 777 engine fire on the runway: 27/06/2016 at Singapore

I agree, most airlines give the cabin crew also a decision right to start aan evacuation depending on what they see out of the window. A full right wing blazing with a possibility of the fuel tanks being breached would not give me one second hesiation to say "sayanora" And rightfully so, but the po...

Re: Another Boeing 777 engine fire on the runway: 27/06/2016 at Singapore

Worst case scenarion no power is needed for an evac cause Emergency exit lights run on battery power and so do the door actuators on the B777. The report will be interesting indeed :) I was talking about the beacon light. It is on the whole time in the video. So the aircraft IS powered. These thing...

Re: Another Boeing 777 engine fire on the runway: 27/06/2016 at Singapore

I agree that evacuating that plane should have been done, ASAP. But, looking at the video, I kind of understand the cockpit crew for not doing so... Thoug I still think it is wrong. But at the start of the video, the aircraft is still moving. At least the LH engine is still running, and probably the...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces Economy Plus on longhaul flights

I think if you are not above average height, the standard legroom is quite sufficient. Hence some people do not see the added value of 8 cm. Others are obsessed with getting the cheapest deal, no matter what. That is all fine. I can assure you however that if you are above average heith, and do not ...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces Economy Plus on longhaul flights

It doesnt matter RTM. Y is Y, a plane is a plane, more legroom is more legroom. I would call it ... Our best economy seats? I stick to the fact that you cannot give a few more cm and more recline and call it Y+. Its the same seat! And 240€ extra for a return flight for 1 glass of champagne, 2 meals...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces Economy Plus on longhaul flights

No need to shout RTM, the reason why this is not off topic is because you cannot just slap on a few extra cm's with a better meal and champagne (one way) and call it Y+. I think that that is not what passengers who pay for the premium would expect. I mean, yes the price is quite low, so some people...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces Economy Plus on longhaul flights

Ryanair for example just gave 4cm extra on all of its new configured aircraft by putting in new seats. It doesnt warrant it calling it Y+. I think the product is being called premium without it being really premium. What have they got to do with this??? Keep that sick discussion out of a SN thread ...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces Economy Plus on longhaul flights

You are gonna keep repeating that mantra? :D I do work for the another airline but it has no direct competition with SN whatsoever :) WIth 8 cm and a double recline you gain absolutely nothing and forget about watching a movie during the flight then :) great to have a better headphone if you have t...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

330/350 have a common type rating btw, your welcome :) Only for flight crew... Maintenance is a completely other story...
