Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

EI-FWF painted in Brussels Airlines livery https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthansa-group/brussels-airlines/ei-fwf-the-latest-sukhoi-superjet-livery/ Talking about paint... why is OO-SSC the only one in Star Alliance livery? With the new equipment coming in, one could think of another Star Alli...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

An interesting fact about Air Belgium fleet : "The low-cost airline will have first of all 4 planes (A340-313) to begin the activity". http://www.rtl.be/info/belgique/economie/la-nouvelle-compagnie-air-belgium-espere-voler-des-avril-les-aeroports-de-zaventem-et-de-charleroi-sont-prets-a-l-accueilli...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

Why do you say that they can use an OO-AJ registration? On their scale model at their presentation and all their pictures they released so far, the reg was OO-ABA so probably they'll use an OO-AB? registration. Also, on planespotters.net, the first A340 has the registration OO-AB?. Yuqu12, I think ...

I do enjoy your enthousiasm, but ATM the figures show a market share of "only" 36,5%. Impressive growth from a few years ago, though ;-).
Also impressive is the number of Brussels Airlines Airbusses parked at Pier A at night ☺️

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Impossible for EI-FWE,he's not in the Cityjet fleet, follows planespotters.net. So the only possibility is EI-FWA,because it landed on 7th April and now taken off not yet. Be cautious by referring to planespotters.net as an official source. It gives an indication, so does airfleets.net Let's just wa...

There is 1 SSJ100 on order fro Cityjet, so it is possible. I read somewhere on FB that the 3 SN-SSJ's will be FWD, FWE, FWG as they'll get factory new SSJ100's. The FWB and FWC would go back to CItyjet which would operate then FWA, FWB and FWC.
I read that too. Can't remember where though.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

So Brussels Airlines will have no new aircraft...if they are built in 2008 than we will have to wait 10 more years. Even TAP bought new ones.. That's sad .... What's wrong with second hand aircraft? I believe it's more important to be able to make profit than paying high lease costs for shiny new a...

American Airlines will not resume PHL-BRU.

I'm not surprised by this news. Sad though we won't see American at BRU for the time being.

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2017

According to this article (Dutch) the new 737 MAX of TUI fly will have no inflight screens anymore as opposed to their current fleet. As an aviation enthusiast I really liked to fly them because they had inflight screens on (almost) all their flights, not so for movies, but most of all for ...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2017

Do you have access to the contract details? TUI fly could possibly have negotiated to have partly TUI fly cabin crew on board. Who knows? Even with wet leases, there is always one TUI cabin crew on board (announcements in French and Dutch, answers to questions of passengers in French and Dutch, etc...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2017

Such a shame to wet lease planes from such companies. First of all for the belgian crews, then for the customers who think they are going to fly in a Tui plane when they buy their ticket... Not even mentioning their pilots whose English really s.... Oh well, I think TUI fly made a wise decision. Th...

Re: Multiple diversions at Hamburg Airport after terminal closure due to toxic gas

I happened to be in Hamburg this weekend. My return flight was around 1900 but I decided to go early to the airport. Always an avgeek ;) When I entered the terminal shortly after 1600, I was surprised by the very long queue for the security checkpoint. At that time I didn't know what had happened ea...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017

Hi all, See in the departures at BRU today a flight of SN to Yerevan (SN1143, 12:55). Is this a charter flight or a kind of 'test' flight before launching the route end of March? It seems to be an A319. I thought the flight was to be organised together with a tour operator anyway, so they might hav...

Re: BRU Summer 2017: news, new routes, airlines

Shanghai has been confirmed, no? It's probably a matter of time when Hainan announces the final schedule and starts selling tickets. When it comes to the low-cost battlefield, it seems both Brussels Airlines and Ryanair are the winners. One can conclude that Belgians are kind of loyal travellers: pr...

Re: Brussels Airlines future and financial perspective

If Cityjet's plan is to support Brussels Airlines, I'd say we could see up to 10 SSJ's in Brussels. This as a replacement for Avro & expiring wet-lease aircraft, capacity for additional frequencies to existing destinations and launching new destinations. Let's start with about 5 ;) That's the numbe...

Re: Brussels Airlines future and financial perspective

I mentioned it in the SN fleet renewal topic a few days ago, questionning if it's coincidence (I doubt it) that CityJet is hiring pilots for a SSJ BRU base...a carrier that is looking for clients to operate under wet-lease agreements (like they already have with SAS and Stobart Air) at the same tim...
