Software and engine settings might be different.
I understand so why not just changing the software instead of decreasing the performances of the plane?

May be a different EEC software...
Fuel/Air ratio might be too lean to fly upper FL, therefore altitude limitation has been put in place to avoid flame-out...Just a guess.
Is there a difference between US and the EU?
If yes why not doing the same than in the US?

Re: Airbus A220 (ex-Bombardier CSeries) news

So from know on Swiss can not fly higher than 35.000 feet for security reasons linked to the engine problem.
Why can they fly higher in the US?
Delta is not affected and is still flying high with the same engines?
In fact if you look to flighradar24 they are not flying higher than 28.000 feet!

It's all very well to say the B787 and/or the A321 would be better fits for SN. However, I would like to see their comparative rent and operation costs with those of the current A330s.
For sure that's a good argument.

Re: Air Transport in Africa Outlook Q1 2019

Brazzaville-Nouakchott, opeated by Mauritania Airlines is probably one of the longest flight in Africa, with 4 stops (Pointe Noire, Libreville, Cotonou & Bamako). How an airline can get profit with this ? Better to fly from Brazzaville to Nouakchott via Paris Cdg, with Air France. This flights in m...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Luanda is one of them.... With few weekly flights to Luanda, CDG-Luanda is probably one of most profitable for Air France. Things have probably changed since early 2010s. However AF added a 3rd daily service to Luanda, few years ago. Flights are now operated with a mix B777-200ER / 300ER, A330-200 ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

And this is the root cause of the linguistic problems in Belgium. Will any Walloon company translate every communication in Dutch if they have no sites situated in Flanders? I doubt it. But when french speaking people come to work or live in Flanders they want any communication in French. Why? beca...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

So typical of certain Belgians, especially in Brussels: when federalisation suits them, they'll use all of it, as in the case of the Brussels noise regulation. When they find it less convenient, they'll cry murder. NB the remark about Frau Foerster is quite relevant, though! You make a mistake, it ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Is there a chance that Emirates starts flying with the A380? In one word: NO! There simply isn't a market for a capacity larger than the two daily 777-300ERs. I understand I will not discuss your knowledge but their market seems huge knowing Brussels has only 5 links to Asia.( even not daily) If yo...

Re: BRU Winter 2019-2020: news, new routes, airlines

I don't understand why they don't go for 2 flights a day to connect with the long haul flights? If necessary with a smaller plane it's maybe time to add some propeller so they could keep Nantes also and open some new destinations. Knowing there is no restriction in BRU about slots it's really a car...
