Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

The state of some of SN's A330 is just appalling... You should see the mid-galley of OO-SFW (just when you enter via door 2), I'm sure even AFSCA/FAVV would not dare to approve and certificate what I've seen... Last year when I took them to Canada, the contrast with AC Dreamliners was hmm hmm hmm. S...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

I tend to be a bit pessimistic over the BOM route "success". The loads are playing yo-yo... This night's flight from BOM to BRU will barely board 90 pax, and I can quote many many flights that departed with such loads either from BRU or BOM. EK has really been offensive on the O&D India/Belgium mark...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

Where Flanders wins in aviation? The 2 biggest airport in a whole country are french speaking meanwhile french speaking people is only 35% - 40% of the population in Belgium! BRU is on Flemish territory where the official language is Dutch only. The use of other languages in for instance signs at t...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

The project is doomed and dead-born. CX opens BRU in a few weeks time (and I hope it'll be a more successful operation than the DUS one) with an A350 and superb on-board product. Not to mention HU with the SZX flight out of BRU. They have no feeder, no alliance, no interline, no local corporate or O...

Re: BRU Summer 2018: news, new routes, airlines

At the moment they have very healthy loads on both flights. Especially in the premium cabins. The two dailies allow them to cover more departure/arrival waves from/to in DXB. Many friends pilots who commute in or to BRU on both EK flights often tell me it's very difficult to find empty seats even in...

SN has positioned an A333 in YYZ.

Both OO-SFO & M are in CYYZ at the moment.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017

This is no more, no less than a "chipotage" news about SN, once again... Do you realize the scope of that news ? The open door it leaves for SN's crew ? And do you just realize what SN represents at the moment inside LH's group ? A potential ACMI provider to replace SunExpress... the "joint-venture"...

Re: Brussels Airlines will start Mumbai from March 2017

That will be a 330-200 flight only, unless SFX is available for the rotation.

The (very) ageing A333s cannot fly BOM-BRU without penalties, moreover, there are too many no-fly zones (or potential ones) on this route.

Re: Lufthansa buys the remaining 55% of Brussels Airlines

The first rumour has it that IAD flights won't be reinstated after the winter stop for the S17 schedules. UA sales staff in BRU have seemingly already been briefed accordingly and the decision comes straight from Germany... It's not necessarily a bad one because after all SN needs to focus on AFI in...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

I am quite surprised not to read anything about Delta's decision to cancel the ATL route for at least one year. This was quite an historical route for BRU, remember the Tristar years... Huge loss for BRU. I don't think all the airlines will ever come back to BRU. Especially TG and NH. This has been ...

Lufthansa is claiming themselves the profitable flights, the leftovers for SN, german pilots working for SN (without being able to speak dutch or french!!!) ....where is this going to end?? Please SN, stand up for your self and kick those F****** germans out. History is repeating again. Sorry but I...

Re: BRU Winter 2015/2016: latest news, routes, airlines

Adding ACC as well as increasing frequencies to no less than 3 other West-African destinations (and making KGL a non-stop route on top) is a much smarter move than holding on to a low frequency tag on flight to NBO as NBO is simply too far to the East in Africa to still hope for much feeding from t...

Re: Jet Airways out of Brussels?

9W is currently looking for contractor pilots on the 77W, based in JFK as from IATA summer 2014.

They probably look to open a non stop JFK-India route.

9W is loosing more than 100mio $ per quarter at the moment... :?

Re: BRU summer 2014: latest news, routes, airlines

This is only a very minor capacity change as far as SN is concerned.

Their A332 has 22 c-seats vs.30 in an A333, and 246 in Y vs. 254.
22 seats is still more than enough for JFK if you consider the real "revenue" PAX market.

This could also upgauge the cargo capacity for Africa in S14.

Re: Flying Turkish Airlines from Brussels to Africa in Busin

I could recently chat with a TK Africa salesman. If I take Kinshasa as an example, they typically transport pax out of FIH to: - BEY - TLV - CAN and PEK - BOM - BRU and CDG but this is low yield traffic for them (they've had some very aggressive fares recently on those two new destinations). Their a...
