Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

Yes, I thought the same. Still, here again I trust the management to have done their homework properly. Perhaps an extra clause in the contract with Amapola, for a standby aircraft to be available? Also, may I be allowed some musing on the "ideal" plane for the ANR-LCY route? * 50 seats is plenty * ...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

A later return flight would be good, yes. This is a business route, and business in London terminates later than on the Continent. But changing from 17:35 to 18:00 is not enough. Better have a return flight as late as possible, i.e. landing at EBAW just short of the curfew, with reasonable reserve. ...

Don't pay attention. Obviously having "those couple of days per month" ;) Least said, soonest mended.

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Is there any other opportunity for passengers to get a drink or a bite? Both before and beyond the security check, there is the antwerpflyshop with drinks & small snacks on offer (limited seating before and about 20 cafetaria seats beyond the security check) Well, I have to agree with some earlier ...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

Because for travelling to CDG - either from Brussels or from Antwerp - the Thalys/TGV is already offering good service?

Generally, I think feeder flights cannot be a prime business case; point to point traffic should be the aim.

That's standard policy: when questioned about a problem that cannot be denied, it must be minimalised. No matter whether one is in business or finance or politics or sports.

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

Hm, he could also learn some manners and polite language, of course. Even better, to remain factual and on-topic. But everybody has the right to commit a mistake. And then again, there is some bottom of truth under all that uncouth language: it is quite a bit of a shame that a city like Antwerp has ...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

I've said so many times: ANR-LCY is a high yield route, something rather unusual perhaps these days. Load factors are not the prime concern. VLM operated for many years, at times with five flights per day. Good service is what counts here, above all.

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

just repeat the “mistakes” of VLM
VLM made only one mistake: to allow CityJet to join the game. Up to there, they had been flying fine, for several years. That's what makes me fear for the new initiative: the same CityJet is again involved. Would they have learned from their past error?

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

a strap around a suitcase broke off and as a result blocked the bagage system If that be true, there's little surprise the system is so delicate: I should think a broken strap must be a rather common occurrence; if it can block the system so badly that a reboot is required then it seems a very poor...
